-You are just like your mother.- said her father, putting his hand on his face
-Why am I like my mother?- asked Thaila
-She used to be excited about everything, even when I would give her a flower.- said Andreas, flashbacks coming in his head
~~Flashback~~
-And my dear, this is for you.- said Andreas, giving his girl a red flower
-Flowers! I love flowers!- said Colette, jumping with the beautiful red flower in her right hand
=I know dear. That's why I bought them. Let's go inside and put them in water. You want to keep them don't you?- said Andreas smiling, he really loved her
-Of course I want to keep, is this even a question?- said Colette
~~End of flashback~~
-Father! Father! Do you hear me?- asked Thaila, clipping her fingers in front of her father's eyes
-Oh yeah, sorry. I just thought of a memory with your mother, you really do look like her.- said Andreas, smiling and looking at his daughter
She really did look like her mother. They met when they were about ten years old, under a tree. Both of them came and sat next to that tree every day, but different times. When Andreas saw Colette next to "his" tree, he ordered her to leave. But she didn't. So they decided to share the tree, and eventually become the best of friends. From best of friends to being together, then marrying each other and then having their first child.
-Well, since you say she was beautiful, I suppose I am beautiful too, am I?- joked Thaila
-Of course, my dear, you are beautiful, just like your mother.- he reassured her
And there it was, a shooting star, it was almost fully night, so they could see it clearly.
-Father, look! A shooting star!- pointed Thaila
-Make a wish! Or two.- said her father
And in her head, she wished two things, one, she wants Alex to come back, and two, the king to get nicer or to die, so that they can live peacefully.
-I'm done!- said Thaila, blinking more often because she was sleepy
-Come on, let's go inside, you look tired.- said her father, getting up out of his chair
Thaila got up too, she ran to her bed and fell asleep. She was still very worried about Alex, but she was tired, very tired.
~The next morning~
The little birds that were hiding under the tree next to their little house woke her up. For once in a while, she could sleep peacefully. She looked around and did not see her father.
-Father! Father! Where are you?- yelled Thaila, thinking that he is a little bit far, so that he could hear her
She started running around, until she saw her father in the river trying to catch fish.
-Good morning, dear. How did you sleep?- asked Andreas, looking at his daughter with a smile on his face
-I slept good, but I got scared when I didn't see you.- said Thaila, feeling relief that he is okay
-Oh yes, sorry about that. But I got some fish. Can you try to cook them?- asked her father
-Of course, you can try to catch more and I will cook them.- she answered
Thaila told her father to catch more fish, since the fish were small and could not feed them.
She went to the tree and took few branches, then tried to make fire with them. After she made the fire, she put the fish in top of it and waited. She knew how to cook, since they lived in the wild.
After few minutes, her father came with more fish.
-Here, I got even more.- said Andreas, sitting on the little piece of wood next to the fire
-Thank you.- said Thaila, taking the fish and putting them on the fire too
~after about five minutes~
-And there. The fish is ready.- said Thaila, handing her father a little wooden plate with fish
-This is amazing! It tastes amazing!- said her father while eating
-Oh, well, thank you!- thanked Thaila and hugged her father, while he still had some fish in his mouth
-Okay, okay. Enough hugging! Let's eat.- said her father, pointing at her plate with fish
~twenty minutes passed, they are still eating~
-Father I want to visit the city.- said Thaila
-Are you mental?!? You know it's dangerous for both of us!- said her father, talking-yelling
-But father, you went there. And now when I want, I can't. Plus, I can't live like this, hiding and running. I'm just exhausted of this.- said Thaila
Then Alex popped in her head. What would he think and feel if he saw that she wasn't in her little house. He would feel sad, betrayed. The girl he trusted and gave a plan would be gone, and maybe feel like she told the king about what he whispered before running away.
-Sorry. I didn't really mean it. I was just, not saying what I felt.- she apologized
-I know it dear. I saw your face. It's okay. It's totally okay. I understand what goes through your little mind.- said Andreas
-You do?- asked Thaila
-Of course. You think about that boy, don't you?- asked her father with a soft smile
He knew it. He knew that she was worried about him and that she couldn't sleep all night thinking about him. Her father was okay with that, only if he is just her friend, okay, best friend.
-I, uh, yeah. I think you understand.- said Thaila with a soft smile
-Oh my dear. I've been through that too, no need to be ashamed. It is totally okay to like someone at this age. The changes our body and mind does, makes us confused sometimes, but one day, when you will marry the love of your life and have children, you will know what I just told you. And believe me, you will say the same to your children.- said her father, smiling and hugging his daughter
-Do you think he is okay?- she asked with a worried expression on her face
-I'm sure he is.- said Andreas, with a smile on his face while tapping her shoulder
