Under The Sunset..

7. The City Of The Phoenix

The next morning as they woke up Thaila looked a bit strange. All happy with a huge smile on her face. But, her parents looked the opposite of her. They decided to plan a war against Louis The First and his soldiers. They had enough of this fear.

"Good morning my loves, how did you sleep?" asks Thaila jumping around them

"We slept good, thanks." says Colette with a straight face and gives Andreas a look

"Yeah yeah. But that's not important right now." says Andreas

"Why, what's wrong?" asks Thaila

"Sit my dear, we have something to tell you." says Colette

"What is it?" asks Thaila with an impatient look

"We decided to fight against The Lion City. We've had enough of this fear and torture. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would like to help us and fight with us against the king." says Andreas

"Okay, but how am I supposed to help?" asks Thaila

"For now we need to tell you the plan and we are going to head straight to work" says her mother

As her mother told their plan Thaila listened carefully. Her big imagination helped her remember all the things which was helpful for once. Even though they might win, the guards that took Alex might not know about it and kill him. She was worried, but there was something that left hope in her. When he ran away from the guards, he looked like a fast runner that could climb up a mountain in a minute. So maybe he is still alive, who knows.

"Okay, I will prepare clothes and food while you two try to find the right way." says Colette

"Okay my love. Let's go dear." says Andreas

"Coming!" says Thaila while running to her father

"We have a long way to go." says her father as he holds the map

"Okay, so we're here..." says Thaila while pointing at their location in the map

"...and we have to go all the way over there." says Andreas as he moves her finger from their current location to their destination.

"Oh no, that's a long way." says Thaila

"It will be worth it dear, trust me." says her father as he looks in the tree ten feet away from them

"What is it? Is there a bunny in there?" asks Thaila as he looks in the same direction

"No, I thought I saw something, but there isn't anything. Look, we can sleep over there. We'll be able to climb on the trees and sleep there." says Andreas as he moves Thaila's face to look in the map

"Did you find the right way my loves?" asks Colette as she approaches them

"Yes, we can start going now." says Thaila

The whole walk to there was interesting. They found flowers, some berries and a lot of bunnies. When they got bored, Colette would sing them songs and let them finish the lyrics. Little did Thaila know, there was a surprise for her. After 3 hours of walking non-stop, they reached their destination.

"Okay, here we are!" said Andreas

"The City Of The Phoenix, amazing!" says Thaila excited

"Who are you?" asked one of the guards in front of the gate

"I'm Andreas Stark, we are supposed to meet King Philip. We are the people that messaged you from a house near Lion City." says Andreas

"Okay, and who are these beautiful lovely ladies?" asks the guard

"I'm Colette, Andreas' wife." says Colette

"And I'm Thaila Stark, their daughter." says Thaila introducing herself

"Oh, I already know." says the guard

"How do you know?" asks Thaila

"Now I'm sad." says the guard as he lifts the helmet off his head

"Alex!! Oh my God I missed you so much!" says Thaila as she cries while hugging him

"I kind of didn't miss you actually." said Alex

"Really?" asked Thaila

"Well I saw your face every day, so I didn't miss you that much." says Alex

"Please don't tell me that..." says Thaila

"Yes, I was there the entire time and I was in the tree when your father looked at me. In fact, the three of us succeeded to surprise you." Alex cuts Thaila mid-sentence

"Mother? You too?" asks Thaila

"He looked like a nice boy dear." Colette defends herself

Thaila realizes something. The talk she had with her mother!! Did he hear the things she told her mother?

"Did you hear the talk I had with my mother these days?" asks Thaila

"Kind of, yes" answers Alex while laughing

"Oh God" says Thaila while covering her face from embarrassment

"No need to worry, I like you too." Alex confesses

Thaila's heart skipped some beats. What is she supposed to do now? "Okay, you will just hug him again, right? Awkward, pfft, no way. He likes me too so it's okay, right?" Thaila had a brain crash inside her thoughts.

And there she was, hugging him again. This wasn't awkward at all, it was actually quite comfortable, except the metal between them.

"Okay, enough lovebirds. We have to go meet King Philip now." says Colette while laughing

They entered The City Of The Phoenix all together. Two pairs, Alex and Thaila together at the front while Andreas and Colette were following them behind.
