Sara x Reader | Sick day

Notes: Fem reader.

It was around 7:30 which meant that Sara had to get ready for the day. She rubbed her eyes and looked to her side to see that her girlfriend, y/n, was no longer in their bed. When she heard vommit sounds from the bathroom she went in there to find you vommitting by the toilet. She grabbed your hair and rubbed your back.When you were done, Sara helped you back to bed, sat down at the end of it and said:

"Gideon, tell the team to take the day off, I have to take care of my girlfriend."

"Right away captain." Responded Gideon.

"Sara you don't have to." You said to your girlfriend.

"Shh, you always take care of me when I'm sick or when I get hurt on the field, now it's my turn to take care of you." Sara said with a loving smile on her face.

"Fine. But only if you promise to let me watch any movie I want." You said, because you knew that if you were sick she'd never leave your side, so she would have to watch any movie with you.

"Even the sappy romantic ones?" Sara asked pouting.

"Even the sappy romantic ones." You assured her. You knew those were her least favourite kind of movies because she'd say that romantic movies are a fantasy. They always say that everybody can find love but Sara being Sara thought that didn't apply to her because she was broken and would never be loved. That and that they suck.

"Fine. I'm starting to think that taking care of you is gonna be a nightmare." She said grabbing the remote and handing it to you.

"That's what my dad used to say." You said putting on netflix.

You ended up putting a sappy romantic movie just to annoy her. She just rolled her eyes.

"I'm pretty sure I know why." Sara mumbled, you just laughed at her reaction. You thought that Sara looked cute when she was annoyed.

By the end of the movie Sara was crying because of the end that was beautiful.

"Sara, are you crying?" You asked.

"Allergies." She said, though she didn't sound very convincing.

"Whatever you say. So I kind of just put you through hell watching a sappy romantic movie, how about we watch a horror movie, since you like them so much?" You proposed handing her the remote.

"I would love that." She said taking the remote from your hand and looking deep into your eyes, and you reciprocated the gesture. You both looked away blushing.

Once Sara chose the movie you laid your head on her chest and cuddled close to her. In Sara's perspective this wasn't fair at all. She had to watch a movie she hated, but you were watching a movie you liked. You liked both kinds of films romantic and horror ones. Sara only let people know she loved horror movies and nothing else. Though she loved them and they were her favourite, Sara did like sappy romantic movies, she just would never admit it, not to herself, not to anyone. The only people who knew she liked romantic movies were you, Dinah (her mother) and Laurel (Earth 1 Laurel), because you'd force her to watch them with you and see her reaction at the end. Thea knew too but when she found out, she was very young, she probably didn't remember it. She would do the same thing you and her mother and sister did, except Thea didn't have to force her, I mean who could say no to such a cute kid like that.

You did have to leave both films a couple times because you had to go to the bathroom, but Sara was there with you everytime. Truth is you didn't need to watch a romantic movie to see romance, you lived it everyday with your girlfriend and that is more than enough.

"I love you, Sara." You said out of nowhere in the middle of the movie.

"I love you too, Y/N." She said holding you tightly.
