Laurel had picked the books she was gonna need for the next period in her locker. She was walking to the classroom when she bumped into some of the popular girls and dropped her books. She was leaning down to pick them up when someone picked them for her. When she lifted her head she saw to boys about the same age as her, and one was handing her the books."Thank you." Laurel said quietly.
"You're welcome. I'm Oliver Queen this is my friend Tommy Merlyn." Oliver said pointing to the boy behind him, who waved slightly. "What's your name?" Oliver asked her.
"Laurel Lance." Laurel said nervously.
"It was a pleasure meeting you Laurel but we have to go to class. See ya." And they left before Laurel could say a word.
She just shrugged it off and headed to class. 'That was definitely the most boring class of my life.' Laurel told herself.
It was 17:00 which meant it was the end of the day and she was tired as hell, so she drove to Starbucks to get a coffee for her and her mom, since she texted her a little while ago saying she was home. On her way out Laurel bumped into someone."You again." Oliver said.
"Yeah, I just came to pick up coffee." Laurel informed the taller man
"I was gonna get a coffee for myself, don't you wanna stay and hang out?" Oliver asked.
"Seriously? We are basically strangers." Laurel told him.
"Someone once told me that a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet." Oliver said, more like pleaded.
"Fine. But let's not take too long my mother's waiting for me at home." Laurel said.
"I promise it won't take too long." Oliver said. He went to get his coffee and Laurel sat down in a table waiting for him. When Oliver came back they started talking.
Two hours went by and they were taking a walk by the park, until Sara called. Laurel answered and started talking to her sister.
"Hey sis! what's up?" Laurel asked over the phone.
"Where the hell are you?" Sara asked.
"I'm at the park with a friend. Why?" Laurel said.
"It's been two hours since the end of your classes. Mom and dad are sick worried about you!" Sara said.
"I lost track of time, sorry. Tell mom and dad that I'm okay. And that I'm coming home. Bye." And with that Laurel hung up.
"Apparently it's been two hours." Laurel said turning to Oliver.
"Two hours?!" Oliver said.
"Yeah, so I left my car at Starbucks."
"I'll go with you." Oliver said.
"You don't have to."
"But I want to. Come on."
"Fine, but just because I don't have time to argue with you." Laurel said. Oliver smiled at her and didn't say another word.
When they got to the car Oliver and Laurel said their goodbyes and Oliver called his driver to pick him up, while Laurel drove away. When Laurel got home she could basically see her parents fuming.
"Hi!" Laurel said with a nervous chuckle.
"Where have you been?" Her father asked.
"Out with a friend." Laurel informed them.
"It better be the last time you do something like this young lady." Her mother said with disaproving eyes.
"Fine." She left the living room and decided that she wanted to talk to her sister.
She knocked on the door and Sara told her to come in.
"Hey." Laurel said coming in.
"Hi." Sara responded.
Laurel closed the door behind her sat down in the bed next to Sara.
"So how was it with your friend." Sara said in a teasing tone.
"It was just coffee and a walk." Laurel said with an annoyed look on her face.
"If you say so. I won't be surprised if you bring him home one day." Sara said all innocent. Laurel slapped her on the back and they both started laughing.
Laurel did think twice about what Sara said. She did enjoy that walk and the coffee. Maybe she would find him again and something else would happen between them. Who knows? But for now Laurel was happy.
