LIA LAID UPON Joshua's leather couch, his arms wrapped around her as the two binge watched shitty 90s movies, her body feeling heavy from the anxiety her boyfriend caused her. She knew it was wrong to date someone who she'll never learn to love, but she couldn't help but string him along. He was a distraction from her feelings towards Liv, a bad one, but a distract nonetheless.
A soft buzzing filled her ears, her body twisting in his as she turned to face the brunette boy, her eyebrow raising as he sat up from behind her, "I need to take this call." He said hurriedly, getting up from his spot as he left the room without waiting from an answer from her.
A small sigh came from her as she sat up, pulling her knees towards her chest as she stayed entrapped within the gray blanket, pausing the movie they were watching as she awaited his return.
If she had to be honest she did enjoy being around him, she wouldn't be staying with him if she didn't. But their relationship was so toxic from both ends as Lia would spend countless nights crying to her friends about her boyfriends misbehavior as they both led each other on.
"Who was it?" Lia questioned as he appeared in the room, her hands running through her hair as she wrapped a scrunchie around it.
"Just my manager." He lied, wrapping his arms back around Lia as his phone was thrown to the side, the call log still visible to the girl. The last call being Sabrina. Sabrina Carpenter.
Her throat felt heavy as she pretended to enjoy the affection more than she truly did, the next few hours being as painful as ever as she was losing the only person who was willing to love her while she was like this.
The next few weeks were filled with press conferences, studio recordings, and multiple days with Olivia as the two practically lived together at Lia's. The two hanging out the day the girl got a call from her boyfriend, explaining that the two need to talk.
Any happiness that the girl could've felt evaporated, fear welding in her stomach as she felt acid fill her mouth. Quickly, Lia had left her house as she met up with Joshua.
"What's up?" She questioned as she stood in front of him, the two in the front of his house as gray clouds swarmed the Los Angeles skies.
"What's up?" Joshua questioned, rage in his voice, "Lia, I haven't seen you in a month! Anytime I text you, you ignore it."
Her eyebrows knitted together as she was taken back from his volume, "I have a career i've been working on, you think i'd just intentionally blow my boyfriend off?"
"I don't really know what to think when all you really care about is Olivia lately."
Lia's heart rate began picking up, panic filling her as both their voices got louder and louder. It all brought her back to when her parents were together, the two constantly fighting a loveless battle.
"Josh, she's my best-friend!"Lia countered, her eyes narrowing at him as her heart grew heavier and heavier, "I just don't see why you're so jealous over a friend."
A scoff came from the boy, shaking his head at her remarks as if they were so preposterous, "It's like you don't even give a fuck about our relationship anymore."
The blonde's breath hitched as she just turned around,
making her way to the car as he continued yelling at her, "Where are you going?! Back to Olivia?""Suck a dick, Josh." Lia groaned as her hand was placed on the door handle, opening the drivers side. A laugh rolled from his mouth as he began to get closer to the girl, the panic picking up as she was worried for her safety.
It felt all too familiar to her. The loud screaming, the arguments, the chasing. It was all appearing again for a second time in her life.
"Of course. Of course you're going back to her."
She quickly slammed her door shut, not even bothering to get into her car as she took steps closer to him, "Oh please, don't play the fucking victim here. I know you've been off with Sabrina since we first started dating."
"Because she there for me! She's never off banging a dyke behind my back." Immediate regret filled his eyes as he began apologizing for what he said. His arm reached towards her, grabbing her by the wrist as she struggled to free herself from his grasp. "Lia! I didn't mean it, i'm sorry."
Her hand ripped from his hold on her, sick to her stomach as she got into her car, turning the keys in their slot as he continued shouting at her, "If you drive away we're over for good." And other comments that Lia continued to block out, mindlessly wondering the streets with nothing but her thoughts racing through her head.
Hours later she found herself back at her house, the sun had set and the rain began to pour. Olivia was sitting upon the wooden stairs, her eyes widening as she spot the headlights pull into the driveway. The blonde getting out of her car as she stood in front of her friend.
"Joshua and I broke up."
