"Harry looks like a cabbage patch kid in that picture." I laughed and pointed to Niall phone. He was on twitter while I sorted through all of my old jewelry.
He threw his head back, laughing, and we heard a car door slam shut. I ran to the window and looked down to see my mom walking up the driveway.
"Shit." I mumbled and Niall came up behind me. He gave me a hug and we walked downstairs to where the other guys were. She stepped through the door and just stared at me.
"Oh, my poor baby." she said softly, stepping towards me and pulling me into her arms. I squirmed away from her, pulling her up the stairs where we could talk in privet.
"Why?" I asked after I closed the door to the first room I saw, which just happened to be Mason's.
"Why what, sweetie." she smiled and brushed some hair out of my face.
"Why the fuck did you bring him back!" I screamed, shoving her hands away from me.
"Kaylee, he needed help."
"So, you bring him back, show him off, he hits Zayn in the face, then leaves and never comes back, yea that sounds good to me!"
"Actually, he's moving in." I looked up into her eyes and tears rose in mine.
"No, your kidding." I whimpered and sunk to my knees.
"We are clearing out Mason's old room and creating a office for him."
My tears overflowed and I stood back up.
"What? Clean out his room?! He was your little boy! This is all we have left of him besides his ashes!" I screamed and wiped at my eyes.
"And whose fault is that?!" she spat and I felt my heart sink to my stomach.
After years of depression, and people telling me it wasn't my fault, including my mother, she tells me that his death was my fault.
"What?" my voice cracked and my knees felt weak.
"Kaylee, I didn't mean it." she whispered and reached to hug me.
"Don't touch me! I might get you shot in the heart!" I sobbed and ran out of the room. I made my way down the steps and pushed through all of the boys, even Zayn and Niall, who had piled up at the bottom.
I opened the door and just bolted down the street, trying to get as far away from my life as possible.
I heard Niall's voice calling after me, but I didn't turn around, I didn't stop, my feet picked up speed and I was going so fast I felt like I was floating above the ground. I arrived at the bridge that extended over the large lake about a mile from my house and sunk down against the railing.
I hate everything. I hate my 'family', I hate myself, but most importantly, I hate what I did to the little boy that was nothing but good.
I always told myself it was my fault, and I was just waiting for someone to confirm it for me. I never knew what I was going to do, or how I was going to feel when I was told those words, but now I do.
I need to see Mason, but instead of going to heaven with him, I be falling into hell.
I pulled myself from the ground and wiped my eyes before lifting my leg and stepping up onto the wall, that was the only thing standing between me and my death.
There was a pole on top of it, along with a ledge on the other side, so I stood on the ledge and my hands firmly griped the railing, counting down the seconds before I jump.
"Five." I whispered to myself, breathing in slowly, watching the rapid waves I would soon be plunging into. "Four." I looked back at the deserted street, the almost completely dark sky, dim street lights and the setting sun. "Three." my knuckles started turning white from my grip and the free-falling tears dripped from my eyes, continuously. "Two." my stomach rolled from the wobbly sensation the bridge was creating and I kept my eyes on the water. "One."
I heard Niall screaming to me while my fingers released the pole and my body lunged forward.
