The Dark Side - A Niall Horan Fanfiction - Chapter 27
Right as they were singing 'Moments', Sandy put her hands firmly on my shoulders and pushed me out so I was on the stage. I fought against her, and the eruption of cheers made me even more frantic.
"What the fuck?" I screamed and tried to walk off, but her and Zayn stopped me. "Stop, let go." I mouthed to them, since if I said it, his mic would pick it up.
Liam stood behind Niall, who was staring at me, and whispered something in his ear, making tears fill his eyes. I looked up at Sandy, confused, and she smiled before leaning down and whispering in my ear.
"Management-"
"Did you just bring me here to rub this in my face?" I spat before ripping my arm from their grip and swiftly running off the stage.
I pushed through the stage crew people and the security that was blocking the door. The fans outside literally attacked me, pulling at my clothes, clawing at my skin that was showing, I even had to shove a girl who was screaming a useless line of profanities in my face away. I booked it down the street, running as fast as my legs would let me.
I feel like I'm always running away from something. Wether I am trying to get away from a problem, or just unhappy with someone or something, I am willing to leave all of the good behind for that one bad.
I kept a steady jog until I made it to the bridge. The same bridge I had tried to kill myself on barely months ago. The street was dead, other than the few cars off in the distance stuck in traffic, it was barren. I slumped down onto the same curb Niall had sat me on after he pulled me back over; when he saved my life.
Honestly, I am confused out of my mind.
We both apologized, which was well deserved on both parts, but I feel like there was still so much left unsaid. I never did thank him for everything he has done for me; put more than enough effort into our relationship, been there for me regardless the situation, and so many other things that would take weeks for me to list.
I moved my bracelets on my left wrist and stared at my tattoo. I don't regret getting it, I'm actually sort of relieved. It is the one thing that will always be there, stay the same, be my constant even if Niall won't be there in person. In a way, I like to think of it a he will always be by my side, holding my hand the whole was through.
"Breathe, Kaylee." I whispered to myself, covering my face with my hands. It was freezing, I probably looked like I was vibrating, until I felt a jacket being draped around my shoulders.
I looked up at Zayn, who was sympathetically smiling down at me, "Hey babe." he said softly, sitting down next to me and holding me close.
"Zayn, what are you doing here, you were in the middle of a concert, oh god, I feel horrible, take your jacket back, you're going to get sick." I rambled, pushing it back in his hands.
He wrapped back around me and held it there, "Kaylee, the concert was over..... Hey."
"What?"
"I'm sorry for setting all of that up, I didn't expect it to end that way."
"How did you expect it to end?"
"You and Niall kiss and live happily ever after." he sighed, grabbing my hand and playing with my fingers. I looked up at Zayn, him looking down at me and just pulled him into a hug.
"Thank you, English Muffin." I whispered, squeezing him tighter, "For being there for me."
"No problem, Blondie, I love you."
"I love you, too, Zayn."
"Just to let you know, we didn't bring you to the concert to 'rub Niall in your face', we wanted to surprise you both and tell you management is letting you guys have a relationship again."
I looked up at him and sighed, running my fingers through my hair.
"Well, I was way off." I mumbled, leaning further into his arms.
"Come on, let's get you home." We got into the big black van and continued on the short ride to my house. We pulled up and he walked me to the door, "I have to go, but call me anytime, okay?"
I just nodded and hugged him one last time before stepping inside and walking up to my room.
The door was closed, which it usually never is, so I cautiously opened it, surprised at who I saw perched on my bed.
"Hey."
