pretty thoughts - alina baraz & galimatias
i think i should - steve lacy

The more the clock ticked on, the more you were convinced that you were having heart palpitations. From the moment you woke up the only thing on your mind was seeing Gojo this Saturday night, thinking about what you were going to wear, what kind of makeup look you wanted to present, the perfume that you'd wear. All you thought about was how you should look for Gojo.

With a clay face mask solidifying over your face, you watched the time.

1:54 pm

You basically had 2 more hours until Gojo would be here, you already sent him your address and his response to that was "Can't wait to see you, pretty". As you read over the message again, you couldn't decide whether your heart was fluttering out of infatuation or pure anxiety.

Maybe both.

As you washed the clay mask off of your face, you made a mental checklist. You already showered and shaved, so all you needed to do now was do your hair, makeup and dress up.
First you did your hair. Using a hair band to move your braids out of your face, you grabbed a small brush that had clumps of gel inside it - it was a really messy brush, but you knew it would definitely have your edges slicked down and stay like that the entire night. You wanted a classy and alluring look, so you only swooped your edges into your hairline rather than doing a fancy design on them. After a few tries (and huffing of frustration as your textured hair was fighting staying slicked down), you perfectly slicked them down, using a silk scarf to lay them down whilst your did your makeup.
You decided on doing a soft glam look, using gold highlighter to highlight the highest points of your face. As you did your makeup, you felt more confident. Yes, you were just as beautiful without makeup, but you loved the way your makeup calmed your anxiety. It told you not to worry, cause you'll always look heavenly. You finished your makeup with black dramatic falsies, accentuating the shape of your eyes and it's colour.
Staring at yourself in the bathroom mirror for a moment, you smiled at your face. Beautiful. You thought. Nobody could ever top this. The way your face was structured was like no other, you were grateful afro-centric features, it was really one of a kind.

You had ordered a new dress for this date. That's how excited you were.

If it weren't for next day delivery, you'd probably be on the verge of ruining your makeup with panic-induced tears and calling Olivia to hopefully give you one of her dresses or help you pick something.
You bought a rust coloured satin dress and as soon as you took it out of its package and put it on, you were grateful of your choice.
The way it complimented your skin and shaped your body made it seem as if it was made perfectly for you. You admired how the dress' neckline complimented and accentuated your cleavage. The dress was wrapped around your waist, exposing most of your right outer thigh and legs, the folds of the material accentuating the width of your womanly hips. The rust colour of the dress made your melanated skin glow, complimenting the gold highlights on your face. You looked like a goddess. Aphrodite herself would probably tell you that herself the way you emulated your femininity so beautifully.

As you started tying up your strappy heels that matched the colour of your dress, your phone vibrated with a message from Gojo himself.
