Josie POV
Malcolm has the same coldness I remembered when I last saw him before the battle had started. His hands behind his back as he regarded us as if we were some kind of inconvenience for him. I hated him back then but seeing him here now my hatred had only grown. I could already tell that his time spent here hadn't changed him. He was still an arrogant piece of shit.
Hope looked as if she wanted to pounce and I could tell if given a shot.
"How fun this is. How long has it been? Time passes differently when you are alone and I hope you will forgive me if I didn't keep up with it."
Hope snarled.
"Not long enough for a person like you. Trust me."
Malcolm sighed and shook his head.
"Ah Hope still all talk and no action. I thought these years would share you some wisdom that I have achieved over a thousand years. But it doesn't seem that way."
I then stepped up.
"I wouldn't be so sure. Hope is 10 times the person you will ever be."
Malcolm smiled but he just looked disappointed.
"Foolish girl. I wouldn't be so quick to jump to her aid. You all were never any match for me and you don't even know that yet. For over a thousand years I commanded an army so vicious and animalistic that we went across the world conquering cities. I have watched empires fall and rise again. And I have been instrumental in all of it. People worshipped me for fear I would kill their who family."
Malcolm smiled evilly. Then he pointed at Josephine who had remained remarkably quite since we came here.
"Ask your friend here. I have to admit I didn't knew you were when you first joined me. But now I do. If I am not inaccurate it would have been England about 10 years ago."
Josephine didn't say anything but Malcom seemed convinced he had found something. Then he began to pace back and fourth.
"You see I had someone from her little village outside London steal from me. I don't even remember his name. But once I found out where he was I hunted him down and slaughtered him in his own house. My blood lust didn't end there so I killed his family. Kids and wife. Then I set my army on the streets. It didn't take long. A mere couple of hours and blood ran through the streets like a an overflowing river. I walked through it killing the remaining few who kneeled down and begged for their miserable meaningless lives. It wasn't just here town but it was her father who stole from me. Josephine here had went to a local well to get water. She would be dead too if she didn't take that trip one that particular day. A girl who I spared tracked me down and set me on that path that led to Hope Mikaelson."
Hope was staring right ahead but I could tell she was understanding. Not only had she hurt Lizzie but she had orchestrated this whole mess that devastated our town 10 years ago.
There was a sob and I turned to see Josephine who was crying while trying to contain the fits of coughing that was coming out.
"You killed my whole family and yet you didn't have the decency to send me with them. I had to watch when they said it was freak flood to avoid what really happened because our whole government was fucked. Covering up their own asses while nothing happens to them. It only helped fuel my rage when I tracked you down to tell you some fake prophecy that your egotistical ass ate up. It was easy to send you to Hope who I knew would be able to kill you. Do I regret what you did to New Orleans? No I don't. What I regret is that you got sent here and not killed like the evil ass hat you are."
