Chapter 29

3 months later

Nick's POV
It's been 3 months since we lost our little baby and I can finally see light and happiness starting to come back to our eyes. Our families have been amazing through all this, someone was always here to help or check in on us. We were slowly getting back to a new normal and back into the swing of work and home life. Today was Elizas first day back at work and to say I had missed her presence at the office was an understatement. I think Rachel missed her as well because we had not gotten many words in edgewise with Eliza, Rachel had her attention any time she wasnt busy. She had been through a similar situation and had helped Eliza in more ways than I could ever hope for..
It took most of the day but I finally had her alone in the office after sending Rachel home for the day. "Are you ok love?" I ask as I gently pull her onto my lap.
" yes sir, I am actually doing great for the first time in a while. I feel like I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel again and not only is my body healed but my heart is healing too." She whispers as she lays her head on my shoulder and just cuddles closer in to me. This is exactly the way Lincoln found us over thirty minutes later and he just joined us on the couch and grabbed Elizas hand in his. Yes today was the day for new beginnings.

Lincs POV

As I enter the office towards the end of the day I notice Rachel was already gone. I assume that Nick sent her home early and that him and Babygirl are in his office so I make my way that way. I spent most of my day at the office of one of the companies we partner with, going over some discrepancies in their last quarterly report. It had been a long day but I would need to keep a closer eye on things for a while to make sure everything was back on track. I smile as I walk in to find my lover curled up with Nick on the couch. I silently join them and just relax knowing that everything would be ok, both at work and at home.
