-Feyre's POV-
A note appeared on the table in front of me, I frowned as I picked it up.
Dear Feyre,
Hybern wants Ava dead as she can read and wield the book, he ordered me to come here and kill her, but I gave her a way out.
I have put her in an enchanted sleep, she fully consented to this before you accuse me of something, and I promised on my life that I would set her free as soon as the war was over.
She will not require food or water and she will not waste away, I'm sure Rhysand can explain enchanted sleeps to you if need be.
As I can't enter Velaris she is still in the forest where she trains, and I will be sat with her until someone comes to get her.
I know this isn't good, and does not redeem me in any way, but I didn't want to kill her, this was the only way Hybern leaves her alone.
Tamlin.
I looked up at Rhys, tears in my eyes.
"Feyre?" He asked, worry on his face.
"Tamlin was ordered to kill Ava but he put her in an enchanted sleep instead so she could live," I whispered.
"Where?" Rhys asked.
"Her training ground, he said he will stay with her until one of us gets her," I said, putting the note down.
"Then let's go and get her." Rhys replied.
We winnowed to the clearing Ava uses and saw her laying on a bed of flowers. Tamlin was in beast for laying nearby, alert.
We walked out of the tree line and Tamlin shifted back.
"Don't kill me," he said, seeing Rhys's anger.
"Show me," Rhys snarled.
"What?" Tamlin asked, looking confused.
"Show me that she agreed to this," he snarled again.
"Very well," Tamlin breathed, and they both went still while I went over to Ava, she looked so peaceful.
"Leave my court," Rhys said before kneeling down next to me.
Tamlin wordlessly winnowed away, and I looked at him.
"He really did give her the choice, he answered all of her questions about what an enchanted sleep would do to her and made a blood vow that he would free her once the war was over or he died." Rhys said, carefully lifting Ava up.
"How do we tell this to the rest of them, especially Az and Amren?" I asked, biting my lip.
"By being honest and forbidding them for retaliating," Rhys replied.
-Tamlin's POV-
At the last battle.
I knew Ava was a shape shifter like me, I could smell it on her. We were also loosing.
We needed her here, it was our last hope.
I ran from the battle ground before I unlocked the hold on her, letting her wake.
