The Family (marina)

Chapter 3

* 2 months later *

Maya and carina have been continuing their IVF process as well as just continuing their daily routines of work and what not. They both have been very busy with work lately but they still made sure to spend a lot of time together. They had been taking it slow with the IVF process but they have been having fun throughout the process.

It was a normal day for Maya and Carina. They went to work did they're usual thing and got home to enjoy each other's company. Carina got home before Maya did since Maya was in a meeting at the station. When Carina got home she switched out of her scrubs to get into the shower since she wasn't feeling super well then noticed the date on her phone. She realized her period was a week late. "Oh my god" Carina screams in excitement.

Maya had just walked in from work. "Baby I'm home." Maya called as she took off her shoes and walked up the stairs to find her wife. "Bambina guess what!" Carina said in excitement. "Omg wait really?" Maya asked with pure joy on her face. "Well my period is a week late but I haven't taken a test yet" Carina explained. The blonde was overly excited. Both women wanted to have their own children as soon as they could so with this news they took a pregnancy test.

"Okay do you flip it or do I flip it" Carina asked. "We could do it together babe" Maya replied. "Okay, 1, 2, 3!" They both shouted as they flipped over the pregnancy test. "OMG!" Both women shouted and tears started to fall from Carina's face as they both saw the positive on the test. The blonde pulled the brunette in for a kiss being gentle with the brunette's waist. "I'm so happy bambina!" Carina said as they both kissed and just held their moment.

Both Maya and Carina just stood there in shock and excitement for their new journey. Maya kneeled down to get close to Carina's stomach so she could talk to the baby. "Hi baby, this is your mommy Maya. I can't wait to meet you! We love you so much already" Maya said before giving Carina's belly a gentle kiss.

Maya and Carina decided that they would tell their friends the next day during a dinner to celebrate their new addition. "I'll let the station know that were going to invite everyone out for a dinner tomorrow" Maya said. "Yea that sounds good. I'm at the station tomorrow so we could tell them together" Carina added. The two women snuggled in bed and had some fun to celebrate their exciting news. They had lots of fun in bed before drifting off to sleep.

*the next day*

It was 6:20am, Maya woke up to the sight of her wife missing. "Carina?" Maya called out. Maya walked over to the bathroom to find her wife hunched over the toilet looking pale. "Hey babe are you alright?" Maya asked concerned while starting to rub Carina's back. "Yea bambina, I'm okay I'm just a little nauseous and a little dizzy. It's probably all the junk food we had yesterday." Carina replied before throwing up again. "Awh baby why didn't you wake me up." Maya asked. "You looked so peaceful sleeping, I didn't want to wake you." Carina replied throwing up once again. "Baby, you can always wake me up." Maya said trying to comfort her sick wife.

"You feeling better now babe?" Maya asked as she and Carina made their way out of the bathroom. "Yea, was just a bit nauseous but I'm okay." Carina said getting back into bed. Maya and Carina laid in bed and just snuggled until it was time for them both to get up and head to the station.

*in the car on the way to the station*

"Hey bambina do you think we could skip the dinner and just let the station know when we're in the beanery I don't know if I feel up to a dinner." Carina asked as Maya drove to the station for the day. "Yea sure babe anything you would like. I'll get the team together in the beanery later today." Maya replied. "Bambina" the brunette added "yes my love is everything alright?" Maya said a bit concerned. "Yes everything is alright. I just wanted to say I love you so much bambina." The brunette said. "Awh baby I know you love me and I love you so much too." The blonde replied reaching for the brunette's hand.

Maya and Carina made it to the station. As they were walking in Carina felt nauseous again so she ran to the bathroom with Maya trailing behind her. "Are you okay babe." Rubbing Carina's back as she threw up in the toilet. "Yea bambina, I'm just.." carina threw up before she could even finish her sentence. Carina got up from the toilet to go and brush her teeth while Maya went back to check on the team and let them know that she and Carina had arrived at the station. Carina came out of the washroom and decided it was best if she just laid in Maya's bunk for a while.

Later on the day Maya had the team go to the beanery so that she and Carina could announce to the team that they were expecting their first child. "Hey 19 could you come into the beanery for a minute, I just want to say something while you're all here in the station today." Maya said as she called for her team. "Hey capt what's up" Travis said as he was walking into the beanery. As everyone was sitting down by the table Maya and Carina announced their exciting news. " so as some of you may know Carina and I are trying for our first baby, and we would like to happily say that.." Maya said before getting cut off by the rest of the team. "OMGG NO WAY CONGRATULATIONS GUYS" the entire team got up to hug the new parents. "Thank you guys we appreciate all the love." Carina said with so much excitement.

The rest of the team continued their celebration of the new baby by chanting "fire house baby! Fire house baby!" All through the station. The station was lit up with joy and excitement for this amazing news. Everyone was so happy for both Maya and Carina and wished them all well.
