2.5 𝐹𝑙𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐸𝑠𝑐𝑎𝑝𝑒

"You wanted to see me?" 

"Yes, please come in."

Laverna walks into judge Renslayer's office.

"What is this about?" Laverna asks.

"I just wanted to discuss the handling of the variant after she is caught."

"We bring her here."

The judge sighs. "That's exactly the point I wanted to discuss with you. I want to ask a favour of you."

"Which would be?"

"As soon as you have her, you kill her."

"I thought we prune her."

"Normally yes. But this is a different case."

"It's not protocol."

"I don't care. I will make sure that on the next mission you can go alone."

"My dagger."

"What?"

"I do it, but I want my dagger."

The judge sighs and thinks for a moment.

"Fine, you will get your dagger back."

Laverna goes out and a grin is tugging at her lips.

Laverna's eyes snap open and she sits up. She looks around and sees only one other person here with her.

"Hey, can you tell me if you saw someone that doesn't belong here?"

"Yes" The woman turns around and her eyes shine green. "You"

Laverna rolls her eyes.

"So, you have orders to kill me?" The possessed woman asks.

"You are a variant. Wrong time, wrong place."

"But the others don't get a mass murderer set on their trail."

Laverna's eyes widen.

"Yes, I took a look at your memories. And you should too."

Laverna is still caught up in the fact that she knows, and reacts to slow when the variant enhances her.

"If you don't wanna rule the TVA, then what do you want?" Loki asks the Variant. Right now she is possessing a guy named Randy. 

"It doesn't matter. You're too late." He dismisses the question.

"Well, I think you'll find I'm well ahead of schedule. I found your hiding place like that." He snaps his fingers to show how easy it was. "I'd say that makes me the superior Loki, wouldn't you?"
