--MABEL'S POV--
Dipper knocked twice, then stepped back a little, obviously nervous.
"Alright, alright! It better be you kids or your parents are gonna kill me!" Stan's familiar voice groaned.
"Uh...it is us...but our parents might still kill you..." I called back, looking down at my twin and I. I knew exactly why Dipper was scared. Stan could take this well, or maybe he wouldn't. We were scared to take the risk.
"What did you kids do this..." He opened the door and stared at us, and we must've looked REALLY odd. I mean really, when do you see a mermaid riding a deertaur? And, yeah. He was supposed to be taking care of us.
"Hi..." Dipper said nervously.
"What. Did. You. Kids. Do?" Stan asked, enunciating each word.
"We kinda got lost and dehydrated, so we drank out of a cursed creek and...this happened." I replied, gesturing to my tail and Dipper's body.
Stan suddenly seemed alert, but more amazed than weirded out. "That's pretty cool." He shrugged. "But you don't want anyone else seeing ya." He paused. "Is this why I haven't seen much of you two at all the past few days?"
"Yeah, pretty much." Dipper replied.
"Ok, head on in." Stan let us in. I was so surprised by how UNsurprised Stan was. I could tell by Dipper's face that he was too.
"Well...you're not weirded out at ALL?" Dipper asked.
"Nah, you guys look plain COOL." Stan said. I wasn't used to him this cheerful, but I could live with it.
We followed him upstairs to our room.
"Hang on...you two need better beds." He said, and ran out. He returned with a plastic kiddie pool full of water, which Dipper set me into, and then came back again with a dog bed.
"Really?" Dipper asked, pouting and stomping a back hoof.
"Just try it." Stan rolled his eyes. Dipper complied, and grinned. "This is actually comfy!" He said, folding his legs under himself and laying down.
I lay back in the pool and grinned.
"Night, Gruncle Stan." I said, half-asleep.
"Goodnight Mabel." He replied and turned out the light.
