''Nicky I don't know whats going on with me and him anymore.'' Katie said into the phone sounding deflated.
''When was the last time you got a text from him where you didn't text first.'' Nicky asked sounding concerned.
''Like a week ago, we barely talk anymore. When we do it's only 'hi, how are you?, I'm good, cool, yeah' it's like we barely know each other.''
''When are you seeing him next?'' Nicky questioned.
''Tomorrow, a group of us are going to the pool tables, I'm not sure if I want to go anymore.'' Katie whispered into the phone.
''How about i come with you?'' Nicky offered.
''Would you?'' Katie sounded hopeful.
''Of course I would, what are best friends for other than to eat a whole 2 litres of ice cream with.'' Nicky replied sounding amused at the memory.
''I still don't understand how you stayed so skinny after that.'' The two girls carried on talking once Katie was in better spirits.
''So what time tomorrow?'' Nicky questioned as their phone call came to an end.
''Come to mine at 10 and we can walk there later on.''
''Okay love you Hun.'' The line went dead.
''Love you to.'' Katie murmured into the already dead line.
The next day
''I'm home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'' Nicky's sing song voice sang out as she entered through the front door.
''I'm in the kitchen!!'' Katie yelled. Nicky walked in with a grin that would beat the Cheshire cat hands down in a grinning contest. ''I don't think I like that look.'' Katie muttered looking up at her friend.
''I have a surprise for you!!'' Nicky cooed holding out her hand to reveal a watermelon lollipop.
''Have I mentioned how much I love you lately?'' Katie said whilst snatching the lollipop out of Nicky's hand putting it into her mouth as fast as possible. One thing everyone should know about Katie is that lollipops are like a drug to her, she simply can't get enough.
''Oh once or twice.'' Nicky said whilst going into the cupboards to get some cereal for herself. ''So when are we leaving?''
''About an hour, I still have to get ready.'' Katie replied gesturing to her pyjamas.
''Hurry up then.'' Nicky shooeed her up the stairs.
Once dressed and ready to leave Katie turned to Nicky all of a sudden feeling anxious. Sensing Katie's sudden distress she grabbed her hand pulling her gently out the door. ''It'll be okay sweetie.''
As they enterned the pool tables Josh looked up then down. ''Your still with her right?'' Zack questioned with his arm slung over Caitlin's sholder.
''Yeah I guess.'' Josh replied not too sure.
''What you wanna break it off already?''
''Maybe....''
Nicky and Katie walked closer. ''Hey.'' Katie said when they arrived in front of the group, simple greetings were thrown in their direction by Caitlin, Zack, Mitchel, Danny and Evie.
