Lavender Blu

Chapter six

I must have hit my head on the kayak or something because I didn't remember any of the accident. I woke up sitting in Justin's arms sopping wet, with a crowd of people around me. I looked at my clothes which were covered in blood my head was pounding and my stomach was doing summersaults. Something cold was pressed against my head.
"Princess, the ambulance is on its way, you're fine, just try and rest." Justin's breath was warm against my face, making me feel safer, he was also soaking but had a towel around his shoulders which he moved and put on me. I fell asleep soon after that not sure if it was because of my head or his advice.
I woke up again in the ambulance on a bed Justin by my side holding my hand.
"You gave me quite a scare princess" he kissed me gently on the forehead. Which I supposed was covered in blood, let me tell you, not a nice thought.
"Sorry" my voice was scratchy and unfamiliar. "What happened?"
"Well I was watching I was a bit behind you, and I saw the wave coming and tried to warn you but it was too late you were hit, I immediately dived in after you and you were unconscious so I got you to shore and found your head bleeding and so I got someone to call an ambulance."
One of the people in the ambulance leant over me and said "we've informed your mother she will be at the hospital hopefully when we arrive, so I suggest you try and get some more rest, you will probably have to have stitches on that head of yours my dear" I closed my eyes then opened them again "how long will I be in hospital for?"
"You'll probably have to stay in over night so that we can monitor you."
"But I'm supposed to be going to a wedding tomorrow."
"You might still be able to go, now you rest."
I gripped Justin's hand and soon fell asleep again.

"Where is she?, Ahhhh" I woke up in the hospital parking lot to my mothers scream, "mum" I cried and put my hands on my face, my head was pounding all ready. Screaming, you'll be surprised, makes headaches worse.
"Lavender, honey, what happened? and what were you thinking!? And you she pointed at Justin, who are you?"
"Oh, excuse me Mrs Blu, I'm Magnus's nephew, Justin, I'm your neighbour."
She leant over and whispered something in his ear, he nodded and looked guilty.
"Um excuse me, don't you think we should get her inside?" The man that was in the ambulance looked impatient "Mrs Blu did you bring her a change of clothes? As you can see hers are soaking."
"The clothes!" My mum smacked her forehead.
"No matter she will have to where one of the hospital gowns, until the morning when you will hopefully have remembered her clothes."
"Hospital gown!?" I chocked on the words, I hated the ugly things and the horrible material. I groaned "mum seriously?" I sighed " I hope you're happy."
"Come along now, they'll be waiting for you inside miss Blu"
"Um, am I suppose to get up?"
"No we'll wheel you in don't worry"
The hospital was strangely quiet for a Saturday night. One guy was a drunk teenager, kind of typical, but sadly he goes to my school in the year above.
"Sorry but you can't go any further, family members only." The guy that was in the ambulance with us, (the name tag says Craig) steps in front of Justin blocking his path.
"It's okay Justin, thanks. You go home and rest, you're still soaking wet, you need to get dry."
"It's fine I'll wait."
"Justin I'm going to be on here over night, now, go home" I said as firmly as I could under the circumstances.
"No it's fine,"
"Justin seriously, go home, come back in the morning, whatever but for now you need to go home, I'll be fine, I'm in the hospital they'll look after me." I smiled softly "bring me a present, preferably chocolate or skittles."
He smiled "alright, I'll just phone Magnus to pick me up." He pulled out his mobile which I know he didn't really use, I'm betting Magnus was already in the car park. And besides it was probably wet.

The next morning I woke up quite early, my head still hurt but less then yesterday, thankfully. I fingered the stitches on my head going over last night. After Justin left they got me a room and stitched my head my mum bought me some soup from the cafeteria then left. I lay in bed looking at the ceiling for a while then I fell asleep. Sleep didn't come easily I kept waking up not sure if it was the dreams or the unfamiliar bed. But either way not a good night. Justin came again in the morning with both skittles and galaxy chocolate. Man am I falling for this guy.
"How are you feeling?" He dumped the presents on the side board.
I smiled "I'm fine! Stop worrying, actually I'm likening all the attention I'm getting," I sat up and snatched the skittles up and opened the packet, I offered them to Justin but he declined "no I bought them for you, enjoy them, I told Katrina that you might not be able to make it to the wedding, she was understanding but concerned, she was also wondering if she could stay with you when her mum and stepdad are on their honeymoon."
"Sure she can. I might be able to go to the wedding you know, I just have to get out of here. The wedding is at 12:00 so yea, I could make it. Feel like coming along?"
"I would but Magnus wants me home today to talk about something," I raised an eyebrow. "Don't ask, he's in a funny mood today. So I can't stay long" he smiled regretfully. "Sorry"
"Don't worry, Justin you bought me chocolate, I'm indebted to you. Chocolate it a rare treat, and galaxy is my favorite, and as you can tell by the way I keep cramming them in my mouth, I love skittles too." I smiled warmly at him.
He rolled his eyes and smiled "let's see your head then." I gently lifted up my side fringe and he just saw the end of the stitch which started under my fringe.
"That I must say is pretty cool, I'm impressed, finally something interesting." He grinned then looked at his watch, "well I had better be going, I might pop over tonight to make sure everything's alright."
"You're my guardian angel."
He walked to the door "I am indeed" and then he was gone.
