By the time my alarm went off I had already been awake for 45 minutes. I crawled back under the covers, determined to get some decent sleep, but there was no point trying because thoughts of my previous dream filled my head no matter how hard I tried to get them out. Five minutes of laying there led to my mum rushing in and saying
"Lavender, really, get up it is 7:35. You have 40 minutes to shower, get your uniform on, pack your school bag have breakfast etc. etc. Oh, and I was wondering if you could make pancakes this morning. You know to celebrate Stacey's second day of school. I've made the batter so you just need to set the table and fry them, because I need to get Stacey ready and do her hair. Okay?"
I knew there was no point arguing so I lazily pulled the covers off and plodded to the bathroom. With less then ten minutes to shower I quickly washed my hair, which is about three inches below my shoulder and is quite a dark brown, it's usually wavy but as its wet its pretty straight. It took me a bit over ten minutes to get dressed and blow dry my hair as much as I had time for, before I had to hurry up and fry the pancakes. I would have to hurry to catch the bus if I wanted to fry all this batter.
With one pancake in my stomach well to be honest I did have half of Stacey's third pancake, anyway back to what I am doing, I ran to the bus stop to find three people from the year below me waiting for the bus. I silently thanked god for making me not miss the bus. I showed my pass to the bus driver then walked to the middle of the bus where I found a free seat next to the window. I looked out of the window and thought about my night. I decided not to carry on reading the Harry potter books, thinking that may be what caused those strange dreams. Magnus Flint said that he had some books that I might like so I thought I would go after school today and see if I could borrow them.
Today was very much like yesterday, not much happened. It was a very hot day today so me and Katrina went and studied on the field under our favourite oak tree instead of in the library where we usually go. After about 10 minutes we were joined by Katrina's boyfriend, Calvin. Calvin is what you might call a mingler. He can mix with any one, but
doesn't really have any real friends. So he usually just hangs around with me and Katrina.
Calvin is really nice and he's good looking, but he's like a magnet for Katrina's attention.
But, to be honest they are perfect for each other and I am very happy for them. They have been going out for about a year, which is a record for my dear Katrina she is a blonde blue eyed, boy magnet where as I'm a wavy brown, fringe and brown eyes, friend of boy magnet. I'm so unloved, except by my Katrina.
Well anyway back to the present, we were sitting there studying and Calvin came without us noticing and climbed up the oak tree and hung upside down from one of the low
branches and shouted "Hey! What's up?"
"Well I know what's upside down" I muttered just as Katrina crawled over to the hanging boy and kissed him.
"Hey you" she said quietly and kissed him again before he finally hopped down from the tree and sat in between us.
"So what we studying?" He asked shuffling through our notes.
" I'm studying R.E and Kat is studying for her English exam which is in a couple weeks." I replied carefully re-arranging my notes.
Calvin just laughed "Skittles anyone?" He said pulling a huge packet from his bag, and when I say huge, I'm not joking.
I sighed, Calvin new I loved skittles and that I would never refuse them. I looked up at him punched him playfully in the stomach and took a handful, he grinned (after getting his breath back) and me and Katrina laughed.
