"Oh, my dear beloved! Until the day we met... I could never have imagined that my heart would ever be so enthralled! I fear I can no longer live without you!"

*Click!*

Kaoru grabs Misaki's hand, bringing it up to her lips.

Excuse me...? Oh, was I disturbing something?

"Oh, New Staff-san. No, you weren't disturbing anything", Misaki answers flatly. She takes her hand away from Kaoru's.

"Why hello there, New Staff-san. Do forgive us, we were only practicing my lines together."

Practicing your lines again? Haha, you're as busy as ever.

"Well yes... I was practicing my lines all by my lonesome when Misaki came to my aid."

"I happened to come early, where I saw Kaoru-san talking to her guitar."

Talking to her guitar?

Kaoru laughs. "My little kitten, I was merely practicing with my guitar, as I had no one else to practice with."

Sound...interesting. Oh, I was here to tell you something. Your reservation's going to cut a bit short since we need to close early. We'll be closing around 5:30, so don't forget.

"5:30...", Misaki mutters. "No, it's fine. Thanks for telling us."

Well, if that's everything, I'll be going now.

...

"Please wait a seond!"

Hm?

"If you would just spare a little bit of your time... I would like to ask something of you.

"Kaoru-san?", Misaki nervously asks.

"Worry not, it will not be anything troublesome. It should only take up a fraction of your time."

Well... I do have a bit of time. Sure, what do you need me for?

"Well now I'm nervous."

Haha...

"Here, take a look at this." Kaoru hands me a bundle of papers labelled 'The White Prince'. "It is a script of our most recent play, The White Prince."

I flip through the pages, scanning through the dialogue.

"As you can see, it is not a particularly long play, but the dialogue is quite dramatic and powerful. The director also wants us to deliver these lines in a very specific manner, making the dialogue all the more fleeting..."

"...but as you can see", I stop at the second-last page, "I am having quite a lot of trouble delivering these particular lines." 

The page is filled with highlights and notes in neat handwriting. 

"We tried practicing those lines earlier but..."

"I feel that my delivery of these lines aren't adequate," Kaoru says as she dramatically shakes her head.

Okay, so you want me to...help you with these lines?

"Indeed, I do. Another fellow actor's take on this should assist me."

But I'm not an actor...

"That's what I said...", Misaki sighs.

Well, this shouldn't be too hard. Let me just look at these lines again...

Until the day we met...my heart would ever be...live without you. Alright, I got it.

"Already? That was fast."

"Are you already prepared? Then, let the show begin!", Kaoru dramatically shouts.

Here goes nothing...

*Ahem!*

O-Oh, Misaki!

I instinctively grab Misaki's hands.

Until the day we met... I could never have imagined that my heart would ever be so enthralled!

I pull her close to me.

I...fear that I can no longer live without you!

I bring her face close to mine, maintaining eye contact.

My beloved...

...

*Clap, Clap, Clap!*

"Now, I understand! How your face speaks of your desires, and how you bring her close as you profess your love! Ah, how fleeting!"

I quickly let go of Misaki's hands.

Sorry, I changed the words around a bit.

"No, no, now that you've showed me your performance I finally understand how to say these lines. The way the Prince pulls her in when professing his love to her never even entered my mind."

Really? Well, I'm glad then. Oh, sorry Misaki, I grabbed your hands by accident-

Misaki looks away, her cheeks red.

"Oh, Misaki? Is something the matter?"

"N-nothing!", she stammers.

Oh, did I embarrass you?  Sorry for putting you on the spot like that.

"You d-didn't embarrass me, it was just...unexpected." She avoids eye contact with me.

Well sorry anyway.

"Fufu." Kaoru laughs. "How fleeting..."

"Well then, I thank you, New Staff-san. Your insight has greatly helped me, and for that I owe you deeply."

Don't mention it. I'm glad to help.

I look at the time.

Well, I better start going now. The rest of Hello, Happy World will be coming soon, and I don't want to disturb you.

"Then farewell. I look forward to seeing more dramatic performances from you."

"...see you."
