i wanted to try a little bit of angst, but it turned out into a happy ending, so here.

"Everyone's Idol" (Aya x New Staff Reader)

"New Staff... I-I..."

Ah...

"...l-love...you."

...

Sighing, I put my hand on Aya's head. Smiling sadly, I begin to pat her head.

...So you finally found the courage to tell me.

Looking up, a suprised look appears on her red, blushed face.

"Huh? Y-you already..."

...Yeah. I knew.

As I look down to avoid eye contact, I see her body begin to shake. Shortly after, I hear her quiet weeping. Sighing again, I instinctively bring her into my arms, tightly hugging her.

...

"How...? I-I tried to hide it, but I couldn't...!", she quickly whispers into my chest in between chokes of crying. 

...It's okay. I'm here.

I'm saying that, but...

...

"I-I'm...!"

Shh... It's alright. You don't need to rush. I'll be right here.

I hear her take a long, deep breath. Breaking away from my chest she looks back up at me, her eyes red from crying.

"...I wanted to be an idol, so that I could make people happy. I wanted to be everybody's idol. But..."

She fell in love...

"I fell in love with...you."

...with me.

Aya...

I feel her hand gently grasp onto mine.

"I know that I'm an idol...but I can't control my feelings anymore."

She takes a deep breath.

"New Staff, can I be your girlf-"

...I'm going to have to stop you there.

"Huh?"

You know I can't accept your confession, Aya.

She stops for a second. 

"But...why?"

Aya. You're a part of Pastel*Palettes. You're supposed to be everyone's idol. You're supposed to provide smiles to all of your fans. 

Her eyes widen as I lock my eyes onto hers. 

Aya. To answer you... I love you too. I want you to be my girlfriend...but I can't. Not while you're an idol.

"New Staff..."

I'll keep supporting you. As a member of CiRCLE, and as one of your fans, I'll work hard to make sure you girls reach as much people as you can.

...

But...

...When you finally reach all your dreams, and you achieve all your goals as an idol...

I bring her into a tight hug.

...I'll be waiting for you.

...

After a moment of silence, I feel the gentle nodding of Aya in my chest.

"Okay. Just...don't leave me alone until then. Okay..?"

Of course.

No matter how long it takes, I'll be waiting for you.
