❛scary❜

THIS MORNING, when you woke up at 5 you looked like a zombie. not really, but you were obviously tired. the bags under your eyes said so. you only slept for 4 hours after all.

but you covered it with a bit of concealer before you went to eat breakfast.

"you memorized everything?! as in everything?!" incredulous, jay almost yelled. he hasn't even memorized all of matryoshka yet but you're already done with both the songs.

"i stayed up til 1AM last night." you admitted, there was no need to lie so you admitted the truth.

"don't do that, you should get lots of rest so you don't get sick." jay had a disapproving look on his face. he was scolding you.

"i know, i'm sorry." you put down your ipad on the small table. the both of you decided to occupy the second-floor mini practice room, since the main one had the dance team practicing there. and the vocal team was in the first-floor individual practice room.

you wanted to have your own space so you went here.

"i just felt the need to work hard, i feel like everyone's fate is on my back. the pressure is slowly crawling up my ass." you weren't one to express your feelings so openly, but the way jay was looking at you right now, you felt like he was scooping out your soul. jay being serious is terrifying.

jay sighed, standing up from the floor to wrap his arm around your shoulder as an action of comfort. you were taken aback. it still hasn't dawned on you how comfortable these boys are with physical affection. and because of that you, yourself, were slowly becoming more touchy.

"i know how you feel, y/n. but we'll get through this together. we're a team, aren't we?" he patted your shoulder.

you hummed in response, basking in his welcoming warmth.

"let's get started then." he bellowed, taking hold of your ipad.

"let's divide the parts." you suggested, sitting cross-legged on the floor. "and can i volunteer to write the last rap? i'm quite experienced at it. and i love writing lyrics." you asked, hopeful.

jay lets out a sigh of relief, "oh good, because i have no idea how to write a rap verse." he chuckled, sheepishly.

you nodded your head gladly, "leave it to me then. i've already thought of a theme. i based it from my own experience."

"y/n..." jay looks at you seriously, you started to feel nervous.

"yeah?"

"you're amazing."

you smiled a bit, pleased.

───

the rest of the day, you and jay have been practicing your asses off. relentlessly, rapping for hours, since jay was a little rusty. he couldn't rap at a fast pace at first but you gave him a few tips and helped him and luckily, he got better.
