A D R I A N N A H
Adriannah stood quietly accompanied by Margot, watching Kendall descend down the stairs to meet her slack jawed date. Fred wasn't exactly a man of few words, yet he was genuinely stunned.
At that moment, she realised just how infatuated the pair was, and she couldn't stifle the smile that spread across her face at the sight. She leaned over and whispered sarcastically, "I think that's the least I've ever heard him speak."
Margot laughed, "You could say that again."
The girls made their way to meet the rest of the group, and in no time it was obvious that Lee was already the life of the party. Adriannah smoothed her dress in order to mentally prepare herself for what was in store. It was surely going to be unpredictable.
"Ready to have the best night of your life Hugo?" Lee grinned as he approached her.
Adriannah sighed deeply yet couldn't stop a small grin from slipping, at the idea of what the night held for her with Lee Jordan as a date.
"I don't think I'll ever be ready for that."
And as she finished her remark, she caught George's eye. She gave him a polite smile as she greeted both him and Angelina, and the group indulged in small talk, complaining about the normal potions mishap or history of magic essay.
She saw Margot exit the circle out of the corner of her eye to go meet her date, a mousy girl from Hufflepuff, and gave her a small wave before returning to the circle of friends.
Fred practically tore his eyes from Kendall and announced, "Well, should we get on with this or what?"
With that, the group began to head into the ballroom all while Lee linked his arm with Adriannah's and leaned into her.
"I have to say you look absolutely ravishing tonight, my dear."
"You clean up pretty well yourself, Jordan," Adriannah shot back teasingly.
"No I really mean it!" Lee exclaimed, holding his hands up in defeat. "Excuse me for trying to give a lady a compliment."
Kendall turned around to remark, "Adri, I have to agree with Jordan on this one. You seriously look gorgeous."
She began to feel flushed and although she was caught off guard by their bluntness, she did feel beautiful in the deep velvet of the gown accompanied by her hair cascading in subtle dark brown waves down her back.
Immediately her attention was brought to the extravagantly decorated Great Hall, filled with impressive decorations from floor to ceiling.
She stood in awe of it all, and couldn't believe her amazement. Of course she had been to an occasional ball or two, but this was something else in and of itself.
Her attention was snapped away by Lee taking her hand and leading her to the refreshments table.
"Wow, we're really being forward tonight, aren't we?" Adriannah quipped.
Lee only responded with a sly smile as they made their way over, and she couldn't help but quietly grin at his boldness. She really was genuinely taken aback by the entirety of the event, and sat in awe in her own headspace until being interrupted once again.
She glanced over to watch Lee serve them both punch, but not before pouring something else into both of their goblets.
"Lee Jordan!" Adriannah exclaimed sarcastically. "Is that firewhiskey I just saw you pour into our goblets?" She couldn't say she was exactly surprised though, after all she had asked Lee Jordan of all people.
