A D R I A N N A H

After the Hogwarts champion was announced, all of the students were constantly discussing Harry Potter being chosen as a champion, yet from Fred and George, it was endless complaining about their age line stunt.

Every class Kendall and Adriannah had with them, they found some way to bring up how unfair it was that you had to be 17 to enter, or how they could have found a way around if they just had a bit more time.

Adriannah was convinced that they never would have figured it out though. And that was for their own good.

There was no way that the Weasley twins being in the Triwizard Tournament would end well. It was simply a recipe for disaster.

Although the boys were annoyed by the fact that they couldn't break the rules this time, they found a way to incorporate themselves into the competition.

By asking anyone and everyone to place bets, including the girls.

"You know you want to..." prodded Fred, staring at them.

"Yeah what's the worst that could happen?" added George.

Adriannah scoffed, "We lose our money to you gits. That's what could happen."

The twins pestered them constantly, trying everything to persuade them to 'join in the fun'.

They sat in the great hall eating breakfast, and Adriannah brushed off their words as she did per usual. It was getting old and she hoped that by the first task they would settle down, but knowing them it was unlikely.

She pushed around her food in boredom, letting the constant chatter around her drown out her overactive imagination.

Listening to the bustle of the twins and Kendall talking across the table, she saw an owl float towards her, dropping off a letter.

Adriannah picked up the letter to examine it, and noticed who it was sent from immediately.

Her parents.

Dreading what was in store, she slowly opened it, and withdrew the contents. She scanned it, and read their sentiments towards her. Expressing their disappointment in her, her half-blood best friend, how she was a blood traitor and a house traitor.

She felt her heart sink in her chest, any shred of hope left of repairing her relationship with her family was gone.

Her family was a long line of pure-blood Slytherins who came from France over two hundred years ago. As soon as she was sorted into Ravenclaw, they distanced themselves from her, doing so more and more as the years went on.

This letter was different in a way though. It was the first letter she's gotten since she decided to live with the Langes.

She just left. Walked out, without a word. She hadn't heard from them, until now.

Adriannah read the letter over and over, feeling tears spring to her eyes.

"Oooo, got a love letter Hugo?" George inquired, looking over her shoulder at the letter.

She moved her arm from the table, "Shove off Weasley." She wasn't in the mood for his comments today, and shot him a dirty look.

George immediately regretted this comment, seeing how Adriannah reacted in a way of distaste. He was only trying to get the usual sarcastic remark from her, but this time it seemed more angry than anything.

Kendall touched her arm to get her attention, and looked at her as if to ask, "Is everything ok?"

"I'm going to get some fresh air," she muttered, and stood up abruptly to make her way to the courtyard. She smoothed her robes in an attempt to calm herself down, but felt emotion take over.
