K E N D A L LAs Gryffindor students rushed the quidditch pitch in excitement, Kendall and Adriannah turned to slowly make their way back to the castle in defeat.
"I can't believe we lost," Adriannah huffed, crossing her arms across her chest.
"I can," Kendall laughed, "I mean, Potter is one of the best seekers Hogwarts has seen in a long time. Plus the twins just kept scoring points."
Adriannah rolled her eyes at the blonde, "Meh, they were ok but-"
"Talking about us, loves?" a voice from behind the girls spoke, followed by arms draping over Kendall's shoulders.
The breath on her neck sent shivers down her body and she instantly knew who the arms belonged to. She quickly recovered from her daze, struggling to break free, "Gross Fred! You're all sweaty," Kendall laughed, feeling his arms tighten around her shoulders.
"I happen to think I am perfectly fine, don't you Georgie?" he smirked, burying his face in her neck.
"That you are Freddie," George said, sliding one of his arms around Adriannah's shoulders.
She quickly slapped his arm away and created some distance between them, "Touch me again, Weasley, and you'll be lucky if you live to see Transfiguration tomorrow."
"Sounds unlucky to me," George mumbled, walking a safe distance from the violent girl.
"So where's Lee?" Kendall asked, Fred still hanging onto her.
"Snogging," The twin snickered in unison.
Not being able to help it, Kendall and Adriannah both joined in on their laughter, nearing the castle with the boys in tow.
"Are you guys excited for the other schools to arrive tonight?" Fred asked.
Causing all but Kendall to shrug. She was too distracted by the butterflies that fluttered in her stomach when Fred lifted his head, accidentally brushing his lips on the rim of her ear.
She knew she had tensed, gripping his crossed arms, slightly tighter.
"You alright, Lange?"
Feeling his breath on her ear instantly brought Kendall back to reality. She blinked a few times, hearing Adriannah bicker with the other twin in the distance.
"Yeah... yeah, I'm alright," She gently smiled, though he couldn't see her face.
"Good," He murmured, placing his chin on top of her head and pulling her closer to his chest.
Fred would never admit it, but he's noticed Kendall for a lot longer than the train ride to Hogwarts. They have had classes together for years, but she never spared him or George more than a glance or eye roll.
He saw the way she smiled and how everyone around her followed suit.
He also noticed that her smile had dimmed over summer. She walked around forcing it, sadness swimming in her eyes.
He made it his goal to bring back her real smile. To make it reach her hazel eyes. To make her laugh.
Once the four made it to the staircases, Fred reluctantly released Kendall from his grip.
"Take a shower, Fred," she said, smirking at him.
"Think about me showering, Lange? How dirty," Fred's mischievous grin appeared on his face when he saw Kendal's face flush, "I'm flattered."
She stuttered, trying to come up with a response. But before she could respond, he was already halfway up the stairs.
"See you at dinner ladies!" The twins chorused. Rushing off with their stupid grins and troublesome thoughts.
