~Time Skip 1 Year!~
Y/N POV
"Hey Bunny, everything's ready for the party right?" Eric asked, walking into the living room.
I looked up from reading Stephanie a story, Jenny sitting on my lap chewing on one of her toys.
"It should be! You picked up the cake from the bakery, right?" I asked, and Stephanie perked up noticeably at the mention of sweets.
There was a long pause as Eric bit down on his lip, cheeks going pink then red.
"You did pick up the cake from the bakery, right?" I asked, fighting back a smile, fairly certain I knew the answer.
"I'll uh...I'll go do that now," he mumbled.
Giggling, I beckoned him over, giving him a kiss.
"Hurry up, they'll be arriving in an hour!" I said.
"I will, I will!" he said, kissing both Stephanie and Jenny on their foreheads before heading out of the room.
Shaking my head with a smile, I turned back to the story.
"When cake?" Stephanie asked, already distracted from the story by the promise of cake.
"It'll be later, during your sister's birthday party," I said, running a hand through her curls.
"Why not now?" she asked with a pout.
"Well, for one, your dad has forgotten to get the cake and is just going to do that now, so we don't even have it. And two, the cake is for Jenny's first birthday! We'll wait until the rest of our family and friends are here before we have cake," I said with a smile.
"Is Nick coming?" she asked hopefully, eyes wide.
"Yes! Your Aunt Shannon and Uncle Gene will be here, along with Nick and Sophie. Same with all your grandparents and some more of your aunts and uncles," I said.
"Okay!" she said happily, going back to snuggling against my side. "Now read 'gain."
I continued the story before Jenny began to fuss and sighed, setting aside the book.
"Alright cutie, I'll be right back, let me change your sister's diaper," I said, giving Stephanie a kiss on the forehead and rising to my feet, carrying Jenny to her room.
I heard the door open as I was changing her, no doubt Eric at last returning.
"Hey Stephie! Come to the kitchen!" he called.
I heard her scamper into the kitchen before she let out a delighted squeal.
"A cookie!" she cried.
"Shh!" Eric said, immediately hushing her. "It's a secret surprise!"
Smiling, I picked up Jenny from the changing table, holding her on my hip and walking into the kitchen.
"Eric Carr. What on earth are you doing?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
He jumped, giving me a guilty look, a cookie of his own in his hand, while Stephanie already had frosting all over her hands and face.
"Um...I got the cake!" he said.
With a laugh, I gave him a kiss.
"You've got frosting on your cheek," I said, wiping it off with my thumb.
"Hm, no idea how that got there," he said with a grin.
"You dolt. Gosh I love you," I said with a smile, kissing him again, and he kissed me back, hand slipping down my back.
"Daddy I wanna have that cookie!" Stephanie piped up, pointing at the half eaten one in Eric's hand.
"No, no, you don't need any more sugar right now," I said, and she pouted, crossing her arms in a huff.
"Yes I do!" she protested.
I passed Jenny off to Eric, wiping frosting off Stephanie's face and hands and now her party dress as well.
"My goodness, you are your father's daughter," I said, giving Eric a pointed look, but he was too distracted getting Jenny to laugh to notice. "But I'm glad you are," I finished, kissing her on the forehead and straightening up.
The doorbell rang and I opened it, giving Shannon a smile and a hug.
"It's so good to see you!" I cried.
"Oh gosh Y/N I've missed you!" she said, hugging me back.
"Oh Sophie's just so adorable," I cooed, giving the barely past one year old baby a smile.
"Yes she is," Gene said, giving Sophie a fond smile as he set down Nick, who immediately ran off with Stephanie to go play.
The party was probably more fun for Eric and I than it was for Jenny, as it gave us a nice chance to catch up with our friends. Jenny's favorite part was easily the cake, which was loved probably just as equally by Stephanie and Eric.
Later that night, when everyone had gone home and the kids were in bed, I walked up to Eric, sitting on his lap and slipping my arms around his neck.
"So Honeybee," I purred, and he raised an eyebrow, kissing me on the nose.
"What's up?"
"You remember how I said when Jenny was born we'd talk about having another baby in a year or so?" I asked.
He perked up, giving me a smile.
"Are you maybe saying you want to try for a third baby?" he asked eagerly, and I grinned.
"I think I would very much like that," I said, and without another word Eric scooped me up in his arms, carrying me to our room.
