Wynken blynken and nod

I returned into the house and heard joyous laughter coming from the dining room and the smell of sausages. I smiled and followed the sound to find the company camping out in the middle of the room,they had a warm fire going. It was a nice sight. Just seeing them joyful and happy made me happy. In all the time I've travelled with them, they've became like a family to me almost.

I hope I can stay with them in Erebor...

"Erica! There you are! Come sit with us!" Fili called. I snapped out of it and grinned. I made my way over and sat between him and Kili. Two of my favourite people ever!

I was suddenly squished into a hug by the two brothers "you had us worried snowflake, you alright now? " Kili asked. I laughed "yes I'm fine now" I said

Fili and Kili smirked at each other "we aren't so convinced are we brother?" Kili asked Fili who grinned evilly "no we are not. We think she needs a really good...

"TICKLE ATTACK!" The brothers yelled, tickling my sides. I squealed out laughing as both of them continued to tickle me "n-no stop! S-someone help me!" I squealed trying to get out of their grips.

"Nae chance lass!" Dwalin laughed

"Aye! Think you could use a bit of fun!" Bofur agreed. I laughed, getting myself out of Kili and Filis grip but Kili got up and began chasing me. The company laughed as our game until Kili finally caught me around the waist and lifted me up, twirling me.

I giggled joyfully...it's been so long since I've laughed so much"

"There's that laugh we all love!" Gloin chuckled. I blushed and sat back down between Fili and Kili, hoping they wouldn't tickle me again, but instead they laid a blanket over my shoulders and hugged me to them "your better when your happy little sis" Fili said ruffling my hair. I looked at him in shock "you...you think of me as a little sister?" I asked.

"Of course we do! We all care about you Erica!" Ori exclaimed with a wide smile. My heart swelled with love....brothers...all of them were like brothers to me...it felt really great.

"Come on you lot, let's get some sleep, we leave at first light" Balin informed as he came in he he room with Thorin and Bilbo beside him. Thorin and I locked eyes for a moment before I shyly looked away, feeling butterflies flutter in my stomach.

Everyone began to settle down on their bedrolls until Ori spoke up "Erica, do you know any good stories?" He asked

I leaned up on my elbows to look at him "stories?"

"Aye, we've shared stories and songs, you not one though" Nori spoke up. I began to think of something until a particular poem popped up "I have a poem i know if you want to hear it" I offered

"That would be lovely Erica" Balin smiled. I smiled back and sat up, running my hands through Fili and Kilis hair to relax them.

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod one night
Sailed off in a wooden shoe -
Sailed on a river of crystal light,
Into a sea of dew.
"Where are you going, and what do you wish?"
The old moon asked the three.
"We have come to fish for the herring fish
That live in this beautiful sea;
Nets of silver and gold have we!"
Said Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.

The old moon laughed and sang a song,
As they rocked in the wooden shoe,
And the wind that sped them all night long
Ruffled the waves of dew.
The little stars were the herring fish
That lived in that beautiful sea -
"Now cast your nets wherever you wish -
Never afeard are we";
So cried the stars to the fishermen three:
Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.

All night long their nets they threw
To the stars in the twinkling foam -
Then down from the skies came the wooden shoe,
Bringing the fishermen home;
'Twas all so pretty a sail it seemed
As if it could not be,
And some folks thought 'twas a dream they'd dreamed
Of sailing that beautiful sea -
But I shall name you the fishermen three:
Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.

Wynken and Blynken are two little eyes,
And Nod is a little head,
And the wooden shoe that sailed the skies
Is a wee one's trundle-bed.
So shut your eyes while mother sings
Of wonderful sights that be,
And you shall see the beautiful things
As you rock in the misty sea,
Where the old shoe rocked the fishermen three:
Wynken, Blynken, and Nod...

I heard soft breathing and found almost everyone in their dozy mode. I smiled and laid back, immediately using Filis chest as a pillow, and I felt Kili snuggle behind me.

"Night everyone!" Bofur called. I heard mumblings of goodnight and said goodnight myself. Fili wrapped an arm around me and soon I was slipping off into sleep, where I had dreams of happiness with my new family...

(Thorin pov)

I smiled when I looked at my nephews hugging Erica in their sleep. Both are so protective of her even in sleep.

I can't believe I almost told her what I was feeling...I want to tell her...but now doesn't seem like the correct time. I'm not even sure if she feels the same way about me.

I sighed and leaned my head back. For now I will protect her and help to find her real family heritage. For now she has my kin as he family...

"Wake up snowflake, we need to get going" Fili whispered giving me a nudge on the shoulder. I sat up, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.i quickly grabbed some clothes I was given yesterday and changed into them behind a pillar. I tied my hair back into a tight ponytail and swung on a black jacket.

Before we left I snuck down to the kitchen with Bilbo and Bofur to grab some bread and fruit to help us along the journey, and I just happened to find some meat too. We came back and made our way out of the Rivendell house quietly without anyone seeing us.

We were soon up the mountain on the border of the wild just as the sun came up, overlooking Rivendell.

"Be careful now, we are entering the wild of the woods, Balin you know these paths, lead on" Thorin said patting Balins back. I noticed Bilbo looking at Rivendell longingly. I felt bad for the poor guy. He misses home quite a bit...

"Master Baggins, Erica! I suggest you both keep up" Thorin called. I snapped out of it and caught up with Fili and Kili. Bilbo ran up besides us. We travelled for days over the mountains and we went higher and higher until we were up on snowy peaks. That made me really happy. I haven't seen real snow in ages!

I was ahead of the company enjoying the scenery until I felt a snowball hit me in the back of the head. I turned with a gaped mouth and saw everyone pointing at each other. I smirked and waved my hands over one another making 14 snowballs in the air.

"Take cover!!!" Ori yelled running off with the others as I chased them. I hit each one with a snowball, face, head arm anywhere it hit. Snowballs were flying everywhere at everyone. So much fun!

I felt another snowball hit me and whipped my head to see Thorin whistling innocently. I smiled and made a large snowball above my head. His eyes widened and he ran away, I giggled and chased after him. I hit him and he was covered in snow. In fact we were all covered in the cold powder.

"Right let's move on" Thorin chuckled, flicking some snow out my hair. I skipped along side him feeling very cheery now. We travelled for another day or two until we finally got to the misty mountains. It was fine until we got to some narrow edges, so we all had to stay in a single file, I was in the back.

The clouds grew darker and the wind picked up slightly. I guess it'll rain soon.

Suddenly I heard crumbling underneath me and froze in my spot. I waringly looked down and saw cracks on the path I was on. Dwalin turned and his eyes widened "lass, don't move" he warned. I stood still but my hands were shaking.

"Walk towards us slowly Erica" Balin said. I nodded and slowly took some steps towards them but some of the rocks crumbled underneath me making me freeze in my spot again "Erica your alright, I've got you"

I looked up seeing Thorin with his hand out. I nodded and kept going slowly.

Suddenly I couldn't feel the ground and I was falling...
