Mending The Heart

It's been a week since my parent were killed. And since then I have been retracting recent events that took place and comparing them to past ones to the best of my ability. Certain parts change but not drastically enough to make someone murder my parents.

Was there a loop hole in the timeline or worse what if I'm not the only time traveler? That would be logical. Distract me from my objective and let the war continue. It's possible I came back maybe someone else did to. But who, from what I can tell it has to be a leaf ninja or they wouldn't be able to get in so easily.

My thought was interrupted "Hey Sakura." I turned around and there was Sasuke. " Hey." He filled in beside me. " Are you okay you stood still for a good while." I gave him a faint smile " Just thinking."

" Anything I can help with?" Maybe he can he's pretty smart. " Okay I have a theory." He nodded letting me know that he's listening. " My parents weren't just casually killed it was planned. There was an intent behind it. My theory is a leaf nin." 

He looked skeptical " Think about it how else would they be able to kill my parents? Both of them were ninja and very experienced. Not only that but to get pass the guards too." He was in deep thought.

" You may be right. But there could be another theory to your theory." Now we are getting somewhere " Shoot."

" An inside man. You maybe right on it being done by a leaf nin but no leaf nin would purposely attack your parents. So he or she wasn't the one who did it. They had a partner. I think some other ninja had it bad for your parents and used one of our own against us." He has a point score Sasuke.

" Valid point. Hmm....I'll see what Shikamaru thinks. He's good with things like this. Thanks Sasuke." He grabbed my hand " I'm coming with. I have a theory of my own I want unraveled."

"Itachi?" His eyes widened. He deserves to know. " No need I know why he did it I'll tell you once we are out of ear length."

We explained it to Shikamaru and he agreed that it's possible. And so we began planning a trap. One we need the Hokage to be in on.

I wrote my idea on a scroll and had Tenten take it to lord third. "Hey you said you know why." Sasuke caught my arm. "Right follow me." I led him do an alley way.

"Itachi didn't murder your clan because he want to." Sasuke's eyes burned into my own. "It was a mission from Danzo. Danzo is the leader of the Anbu which your brother was apart of at the time. Your clan was planning to kill the entire village." Sasuke looked at the ground trying to absorb my information. " Danzo gave Itachi the order to kill the clan which was given the green light by lord third. But on one condition, that he didn't have to kill you."

He looked back at me "Why?" I struggled to tell him. " Because you were innocent. He was also hoping that you would resent him enough to kill him so he wouldn't have to live with the pain."

"I'm sorry Sasuke. I can't tell you how I know but if you want the file wait three years and get it from the Anbu tower."

" You promise what you are saying is true." I nodded. "Then all this till I was actually going to kill my own brother." I nodded again " However no one must know this. It's actually supposed to be a well kept secret among Danzo and Lord third. So act like you still hate him for now."

It felt better knowing that in some way I helped Sasuke. A part of me yearned to hug him but I can't....not now at least. "I see...Thanks Sakura." I gave him a small pat on the head and a smile and walked off.

Now it's time to find my parents killers...
