*Third person POV*

The next day at breakfast, class schedules were handed out to each student by their Head of House. Professor Longbottom strode up and down either side of the Gryffindor table, finding each student and giving them their respective class schedules. Andromeda eagerly awaited hers, noting that the Potter and Weasley children had already gotten theirs. Finally, Professor Longbottom reached Andromeda's name on his list.

"Andromeda Granger," he said, glancing at his list, "here is your class schedule. Take care to memorize it quickly, and it will save time in the future." Professor Longbottom handed her a sheet of parchment and strode off in search of the next student. Andromeda quickly scanned her schedule, noticing Percy's name listed next to Defense Against the Dark Arts with quiet surprise. She hurriedly finished her pumpkin juice then stood to join the Potters and Weasleys.

Andromeda sat down next to Rose Weasley and confidently introduced herself. "Hello! I'm Andromeda Granger. Would you like to compare schedules?" Rose smiled at Andromeda, pulling her schedule out of her bookbag and lying it next to Andromeda's.

"Oh look," Rose exclaimed, "We match! Funny that, don't you think?" Andromeda nodded, taking a good look at who her teachers would be that year. "Professor Longbottom for Herbology, Professor Lovegood for Charms, and Professor Patil for Astronomy," she stated. Rose continued down the list of names, "Professor Jackson for Defense Against the Dark Arts. He's that new teacher McGonagall introduced last night at the feast, right?" Andromeda nodded. "I met him on the train, and he seems very nice," she said, deciding to keep what they talked about on the train to herself.

Rose nodded serenely. "I'm sure he must be. After all, it's his first time teaching at Hogwarts. Though he does seem rather young, don't you think, Andromeda?" Rose queried. "Yes, he does look young. Although that could be due to several reasons," Andromeda agreed. The two girls pored over their schedules once more, taking turns reading off the names of their teachers. "Let's see here," Rose ran her finger down the parchment in front of her, "Potions with Braxton, he must be new as well. And McGonagall for Transfiguration."

Andromeda was surprised. Surely Professor McGonagall would have finally handed over the role of Transfiguration teacher to someone new by now! She shook her head and continued, "Professor Binns for History of Magic, and Madame Hooch for Flying." Andromeda sat back and pondered for a bit. She remembered her mother telling her that Professor Binns was a ghost and was teaching History of Magic since his death over 100 years ago. Andromeda also remembered her mother stating that Hermione was never good at flying and couldn't even get the broom to fly up into her hand during her first flying lesson. Andromeda was confident she would be able to fly.

As Andromeda stepped into the DADA classroom, she was met with a feeling of trepidation. She had no idea what to expect but had heard whispers in the corridors about Percy's previous lessons. Andromeda reached her hand into the pocket of her robes and fingered Wavebreaker, finding comfort in its coolness and weight. She took a seat near the front of the class and waited for the lesson to begin. As the rest of the students took their seats, everyone began to notice the various maps and muggle weaponry strewn about, almost carelessly. Andromeda noticed that the weapons seemed to be made of the same type of metal that Wavebreaker was made of. What did Percy call it? Andromeda tried to recall his words. Celestial Bronze, that's it!

Andromeda realized only too late that Percy had entered the room and was standing at the head of the room waiting for the class to quiet down. She straightened her back and tried to look attentive and eager to learn. She was still not quite sure what to expect but was ready to face whatever came. The class became quiet as they acknowledged Percy's presence in the room. He smiled and began to speak.
