You and I

You were there since the beginning.
You always kept me in your arms.
You protected me back then
And kept me safe from any harm.

Then something changed.
You began to push me away.
I didn't understand you
And your hate only grew day by day.

We became enemies.
I hated you and you couldn't stand me.
I knew the love was still in there,
But you were too blind to see.

Then times changed and so did we.
Somehow we connected once more.
We found the love buried deep within,
And it grew stronger than before.

But I guess the universe was against us,
Because soon you had to go your own way.
The time we had just doesn't seem enough.
I wish I had made you stay.

You must face so much there, all alone,
And I have to watch you suffer in pain.
Is there nothing I can do
To brighten up your life once again?

I know that you may never be same again.
You have been hurt and your wound is still healing.
But please remember I'm there for you,
Even if I don't know what you're feeling.

You held my hand once,
Now it's time for me to do the same.
I will stand by you till the end
And together we will win this game.

This poem is for my amazing, pain in the neck, annoying, wonderful and awesome sister. She has been my support for so long. Of course we fight and call each other names but that's how we say 'I love you'. Know what I'm saying?

I didn't realise how much you meant to me until you left sis. Its like they say 'You never know what you have until its gone'.
I miss you sissy. Now that you're gone, who do I annoy with my constant bickering?
Who will make fun of me but also boost my confidence when I'm down? Who will watch movies and make fun of the actors with me? Who will talk some sense into me when I'm being stupid?
Who do I drive crazy with my constant pranks? Who will protect me from myself?

You are the only one who can, sis. So time please run as fast as you can because I want, no, I need June to come soon so my sissy and I can be "THE ULTIMATE DIVA" and "QUEEN OF SARCASM" again.
