It's been two years.
I didn't even realise.
It flew right past me,
The memories flash before my eyes.
It feels like a lifetime,
That we spent together.
All the laughs, jokes and pranks,
That we played on each other.
The games of truth or dare,
The game of Sherlock Holmes,
The plans we made so many times,
To have group study at my home.
The competition we went to,
We screwed it up so bad!
But I still love that day,
Because of all the other fun we had.
The two so-called days of practice,
That we spent having fun.
As I look at the pictures of that day,
Regrets are none.
My sweet sixteen surprise party,
I can't believe I fell for it!
I remember how you ate all my cake,
Every last bit!
How we danced!
And oh that embarrassing video!
How you dumped cake on my face,
And mercilessly pushed me to the floor!
And of course the trip!
Those five days of pure glee!
It was the most memorable,
And better than I hoped it would be!
My first time on the bungee cord,
And that lame obstacle course!
All those amazing thrill rides,
That made my heart soar!
My most favourite of all,
Was the dance around the camp fire.
I had never danced so much ever,
The music kept taking me higher!
The view from the fort,
I climbed as high as I could go.
The freezing blast of air,
As we played in the fake snow.
There are so many memories.
They are too fresh in my brain.
And the thought that this is the end,
Makes my heart constrict with pain.
I feel drowned in sadness,
Yet the tears won't come.
Words left unspoken are on my tongue,
But suddenly I'm dumb.
We can't say we'll stay friends forever,
Cause we can't be sure.
But I guess we can hope,
That we will endure.
I never thought it would be so hard.
Y'all have become a part of me.
And I'm going to hold on to these memories tight,
As I end my high school journey.
