Wind in my hair.
Hands trembling.
Knees weak.
Heart soaring.
The walk was hard.
A shaky step after the other.
Had to catch my breath every second.
Couldn't do it all together.
The ground resisted my feet.
Slipping it off from its hold.
The sunlight seeped through my skin.
But the breeze was icy cold.
Wanted to give up.
Not too late to turn back I thought.
Yet a whisper told me to go.
So I with all my might I fought.
A first time for everything.
This was mine.
Damn! It was hard!
But I was still perfectly fine.
Because the sight before me
Was something so rare,
The definition of beauty.
And I couldn't help but stare.
There was still a long way to go.
Another hundred steps more.
I wanted to carry on.
But I was tired to the core.
Then I heard that whisper again.
"You can't do it all at first try.
You have plenty more,
Endless number of tries before you die.
Your not at the top yet.
But you're close enough.
It's okay to return.
You've proved your tough.
Besides everything is already in your view.
You will see more when it's time."
So feeling rather satisfied,
Down I began to climb.
Now I know I am brave enough,
To take on the dare.
I didn't reach the top of the world,
But I was almost there.
.
.
.
.
I climbed a fort today. There were like a billion steps. I thought 'no way!' But I tried and I was shocked how far I went.
And looking around from where I was, it was amazing! The climb has completely drained me by it was worth it.Similarly, we all have a fort in our lives that we need to climb. We might not make to the top at first try but you just might make it the second time around. So, go on. Go as far as you can then leave the rest for second time. And of course don't ever stop till you reach the top!
