Calmness.

Its a mental state of being free from any possible source that made our hearts race quickly. The absence of disturbance, agitation or excitement.

Any calm feeling can sometimes be achieve through hobbies, going in a specific place and also by being alone.

Or sometimes, in the presence of a person.

A lot of things happened recently especially in our society. We are so prone to suffer different issues, discomfort and anxiety's and I believe that each of us deserves peace, if it's not too much to ask.

This year taught me that life can turn 360 degree in just a snap from the things we've been expecting. Yesterday there's so much peace and then the next day, people are suffocated with fear.

And each day I always seeks for serenity. Sounds so much like me.

I took a sip of coffee from my bottled tumbler and let the warm liquid flows with in me. I checked the time from my phone and it says 5:43 in the morning.

I can feel the chilling sensation of the wind breeze that touches my skin. Somehow it makes me calm.

I look across the sky and mentally noted the days after the locked down. Today is the first day after restriction was lifted and I silently thanked Him because at some point, we managed to survived those non-stop lock-downs in our municipality because of pandemic season.

Ang sarap tumira sa payapang lugar. Sobrang kalmado.

If there's one place that I can call my comfort zone, probably this is it.

I wasn't a morning person actually. I mean yes, I usually wake up around quarter to 7 but life here forced me to resist the comfort of my bed. I gaze around and appreciate the scenery at this beautiful hour. Some areas are still covered with fog.

This place is my father's share from lolo and lola. It was like a hill but with vast flat surface and there's a rice field at the down side. After his retirement he settled here to maintain and developed it more. They were both teachers.

Life here is at peace. I'm beyond blessed.

You know mas magandang gumising ng maaga. The earlier the better, and of course the day will be more productive.

Especially if you have plans settled.

I saw mama preparing a cup of healthy coffee.

"Morning maree." I jokingly greeted her and in return she just gave me a plate of bread. Kumuha ako ng isa at tumalikod na only to earn a playful slap in my butt coming from her.

"Ma. Wag po." She just chuckled at me.

"Anong oras kayo aalis?"

A smile crept into my lips after hearing that question. I wasn't really excited before about their plans for this day but things change.

"Around 8 pa siguro ma, magbabyahe pa yung dalawa."

"Mmm. Magbaon kayo ng pwedi n'yong dalhin doon. Sa Can-awan kayo matutulog?"
