Do you ever think that every person has a limited amount of luck in their lives? I mean, like there is a certain amount of percentage that each of us acquires. Surely, nobody can get through life easily forever! There are times when life will suddenly be against you, it's not forever, but long enough for you to feel pathetic.

Well, it never rains but it pours, and I guess that's just how reality is.

Apparently, today the world chose not to be on my side. Of all the days it could have picked, the God of Calamitous just had to show up on this important day!

Today was supposed to be my turn in the kitchen to prepare breakfast, but I woke up so late this morning that I was lucky enough to be able to serve cereals.

"What is this?" asks Satan when I pass the box of Devildom version of Cheerios in front of him.

"Breakfast," I reply, ignoring the skepticism in his tone. I proceed to pour the milk inside my own bowl before shoving a spoonful of the-not-so-cheerios-ish into my mouth.

"Neee," Asmo starts to protests as well, but at least he's still eating his own share. "Why are we having cereal?"

I shrug at him, "because it was originally invented as a quick meal for this time of day."

"I'm a growing Demon! Where are the vitamins I need?!" utters Levi from across the table. He is eating it dry and still demanding vitamins?!

"You'll get plenty enough from the sun," I have to start my day by waking up at the wrong side of the bed, and I don't want to deal with their complaints right now.

Leviathan begins to continue with his protest, "but there's no sun here in Devild..."

"By the way," Mammon says from his seat, cutting off his brother. "Where's Lucifer?"

Now that he mentions it, I haven't seen a single strand of his hair this morning. When I rushed into the kitchen, ready to get yelled at by him like usual whenever I wasn't in my post at the scheduled time, he wasn't there. I didn't think too much about it after that because I had enough things to worry about as I take out boxes of dried food.

"I'm right here, Mammon!" Lucifer exclaims once he emerges into the dining hall. He pulls his chair out before sitting down so graciously in the morning.

"It's so unlike you to eat breakfast later than us," the second-born brother says, echoing my exact thought.

"I am never late," Lucifer says, glancing at me at the last word. "I already had my meal, that's all. But it seems that someone doesn't know how to be punctual." His eyes never leave me even for a millisecond, and we all know that I will have a hard day by the look on Lucifer's face.

Nobody dares to speak up as the atmosphere starts to be oppressive. Great, whenever I am at fault, I am always being left alone. Where is the support from these guys when I need it? I always have their backs whenever they get themselves into trouble!

"You all should get going now," Lucifer says dismissively, but he doesn't move from his seat just yet. When I start to take my leave, Lucifer stops me. "Except you, Y/N! You're walking with me."

Great...

Lucifer and I wait for everyone to leave the house before we start our painfully long journey to school, for me at least. I have no idea why he wants to be as far away from the others, but it gives an unsettling feeling in my gut. This never happened before!

I want to express my objection, feeling the need to move faster than we are now. But Lucifer knows all of my schedules, and surely he is aware that my class doesn't start until 10 am today. So I am in no position to raise his hackles without having strong arguments.
