Thalia jolted awake, sucking in a loud breath through her lips, quickly sitting upright, her thick messy hair framing her face and falling over her shoulders. Her head was pounding as she raised her hand, her fingertips lightly pressing against her temple. She scrunched her eyebrows in confusion, feeling her heart race in panic. What the hell happened?

Only then, she took in her surroundings. It was nighttime and rather cold, the wind carrying a smell of salt. She shifted her gaze aside where the dark blue sea was sprawling for miles, connecting with the black sky filled with stars on the horizon. A beautiful, large full moon was shining, illuminating the water and making it sparkle. Thalia slowly stood up on her slightly wobbly feet, her silver eyes drawn to the moon.

God of the Underworld observed the scene with interest, standing in the darkness behind her. He had been awake for a while, observing her. Even though a part of him wanted to make a clever remark, he somehow couldn't. He was too mesmerised by what he was witnessing. Even though the moon shone brightly, it seemed to have shine the brightest where Thalia had stood. She was completely surrounded by moonlight, her dark brown hair suddenly appearing silver.

She almost looked transparent for a few moments, like she was the moonlight.

Hades' mouth gaped slightly. It seemed as if Thalia was in some kind of trance and it made him uncomfortable. Deciding to put an end to it, he walked towards her and hesitantly reached forward, slowly placing his hand on her shoulder.

Thalia flinched and suddenly everything was back to normal. Gone was the white hair and the moonlight that was illuminating her. The only thing that Hades noticed was her grey eyes that were so much lighter than they had previously been until they slowly returned to their original colour.

"Welcome back, Moonlight."

That was all Thalia heard before her vision became blurry and she collapsed. Only this time, her body didn't meet the hard ground but a pair of sturdy arms that managed to catch her.

🔥🔥🔥

When Thalia once again regained her consciousness, a rush of panic passed through her, making her almost jump out of the bed she was lying on. Before she could even process where she was or what happened to her, her eyes focused on Hades sitting on the edge of the bed, his gaze glued to the screen of a plazma tv attached to the wall.

He was flipping through the channels, mesmerised like a small child. Thalia seized the opportunity to glance around, coming to a conclusion they were in some kind of hotel. Which meant they had managed to come back to the world of the living.

She leapt out of the bed. "I'm alive again!" She grinned happily, her tangled curls falling over her face.

Hades looked at her blankly, throwing a quick glance up and down her body. "You've been asleep for two days, how are you feeling?"

"Two days?" She repeated in shock. "Where are we?"

"In a hotel room." He shrugged. "It was so troublesome and irritating carrying you around, I almost pondered leaving you somewhere. But then I realised I have absolutely no bloody clue how this damned modern world works, so I decided to keep you as my guide."

Hades, of course, left out the part where he almost screamed like a small child when coming across a car, huge commercial billboards, and subway. Not to mention how shocked he was to see women wearing revealing clothing.

"And you think that's going to work?" Thalia frowned. "The deal was that you leave the Underworld with my help and that part is taken care of. I owe you nothing and you owe me nothing anymore. I don't want to babysit you, I have enough to worry about without you being a burden."
