Hades barely slept that night. He wasn't thinking clearly when he decided to kiss Thalia. It was just in the heat of the moment, because she made him feel strong emotions by chanelling that memory of the meadow. She managed to make him feel something positive after all those centuries of nothing but pain, sadness, and hatred. And it made him act upon it.
Yes, that was it. It was a momentary impulsive reaction. No big deal. Because if Hades would never do something, it would be having any type of relation with human (or demigod) women.
God of death was surprised when he didn't see Thalia working in the living room like she usually did in the morning with a cup of bitter green tea beside her laptop. Her job allowed her to work from home for two weeks and two weeks she had to go to the office. It made giving her lessons about her powers much easier.
The more she practised, the more quicker will she be useful to him. All he needed to do was find a way to make her cooperate when the time comes to execute his revenge plan against the Olympians. And most importantly, against his brother Zeus.
But when an hour passed, then two and then three without any sight of her, he became slightly alarmed. The first thing that made him worried was that her phone was in the apartment. It rang a few times, all calls from work, from her father, and Ray.
It briefly crossed his mind she might have wandered off somewhere in her sleep because he distinctly remembered she told him sleepwalking used to happen a lot when she was younger. She would wake up in strange places and luckily she never got injured. That was why her father was so overprotective of her and that is why he was the one calling her for the fifteenth time since early morning.
"Where is she?" Was the first thing Hades asked when he made a mind link with his brother. He assumed Poseidon had something to do with her disappearance because something like this hadn't happened before he came.
"Who?" Poseidon casually asked, materialising behind Hades. He had a charming smirk plastered on his face, shoulder leaning against the wall.
"I made the mind link with you so I wouldn't have to look at your traitorous face," Hades snapped, briskly walking towards him. "Where is Thalia?"
Poseidon's eyebrows rose. "And how should I know?"
"She has disappeared and if you have something to do with that, I swear-"
"Whoa, whoa, easy." Poseidon lifted his hands. "Smoke will come out of your ears if you don't calm down. Why are you so sure something's happened to her?"
He hesitated for a moment. "I just... know. She never leaves her home without that damned talking device and she is not answering me through mind link. I can feel something is wrong."
"You sure did get all worked up because of a human girl. Since when do you care about humans?" His brother teasingly said, a boyish half smile on his lips. Hades wanted to punch it off his stupid face because he was in no mood.
"She is a demigod," god of death muttered as if that was a valid response.
"A mortal nonetheless." Poseidon shrugged, smiling widely. He knew it would tick him off. He was much like Thalia in the terms of personality, laid back and very calm. In other words, completely opposite of Hades.
"Will you help me track her down or what?" Hades finally snapped. "If you are planning on making stupid jokes then let me handle this on my own and get away from me."
Poseidon rolled his eyes. "I'll help you." He sighed dramatically. "Guess my massage appointment will have to wait."
