Three Fates; Past, Present and Future; sat in front of a great tapestry of life, staring at the endless amount of threads woved in it, each representing a life of a mortal or a god. It had a unique intricate design, and from afar, it looked like a galaxy containing billions of stars. Golden glowing threads represented gods, blue ones with a faint glow represented demigods, and the red coloured ones represented humans.

The Fates were worried about the consequences a certain mortal's existence could bestow upon the world. Thalia Peters was a great threat unless she remained protected.

What brought them comfort was that the biggest threat the world had faced so far had been contained centuries ago. God of death could no longer bring harm to anyone.

"What can be done?" King of the gods asked them.

The trio stood in front of Zeus, each hidden beneath a hooded dark brown cloak, their heads bowed down. Zeus had last seen their faces on that fateful night about six centuries ago when his blood sealed the fate of his eldest brother for eternity.

"We know your brother is locked away and there is no way for him to free himself, but perhaps he should be monitored more closely than before," Past suggested. "Even though it's been centuries since he has tried something to free himself."

"Never say never, sister," Present quipped in.

Zeus frowned. "Even though I made sure to check on him every day, I will send my soldiers into the Underworld just in case. No one has seen him in person for six hundred years."

Unfortunately for Zeus and lucky for Hades, god of death had made sure that his escape remains a secret for as long as it can. Before he escaped the Underworld, he cast a spell which would ensure no one noticed his absence. Every time Zeus used his powers to see if he was there, he would get an image of him sitting miserably on his throne or sulking in his dining room. God of death had the powers of trickery and was naturally skilled at manipulation.

But despite of that, Zeus was restless. Something had been making him moody and irritable, as if he could feel that there was some imminent danger approaching. Even though he made sure his older brother stays locked away where he can harm nobody, it didn't mean the world was completely safe.

"What about you, Future? Did you see anything?" Zeus asked the third and perhaps the most important of the Fates.

Future remained silent for a few seconds as if unsure of something. Zeus frowned in worry until the third Fate finally shook her head. "Nothing, my Lord. I haven't forseen any chaos. The world shall remain in balance because Hades is locked away."

The Fates then bowed down to their King, making him nod at them. Even though Future's words had calmed him slightly, he decided to wait for his soldiers to alert him that everything was in order in the Underworld. With a wave of his hand, he disappeared.

"Try harder," Hades commanded as Thalia stared at him, trying to get inside his head.

She ended up groaning, frustrated because nothing had happened for hours. "I don't understand, it worked the last time! I managed to make an illusion inside your head!"

"Yes, but I was unaware of it at the time. That was rather impressive too, but now you need to go one step further and try to go past my barricade when I am purposely blocking you out."

Hades loved to antagonise her, making her see images that weren't there to show her how easy it was for him. It angered her, but she was determined not to show it to him.

He made her think that they were standing on top of some high cliff with restless sea beneath them. In the illusion, Thalia was standing on the very edge while Hades was smirking maliciously at her, approaching her slowly as if she was a prey. It was all an attempt to get her to resist his mind games and enter his head, but she was still too weak for it. She ended up tripping down, her hands desperately grabbing at the sharp rocks as her legs dangled down, her terrified gaze looking up at Hades'.
