"When you said we start with our training early, I didn't think you'd mean at the break of dawn," Thalia begrudgingly muttered, sporting a messy bed hair tied in a careless low ponytail, wrinkled pyjamas and an annoyed, tired expression.

Hades, on the other hand, looked perfect as usual. It irritated Thalia how many benefits being a god actually had. "We must seize the day. The entire day. Unleashing your powers is not something you can learn in an hour. It takes days, weeks even. Some never learn to fully control them."

She let out a huff, blowing a stray curl away from her face in the process. "I am already tired and we haven't even begun."

God of death narrowed his eyes, taking a step forward in an intimidating manner. "Rule number one: listen to everything I say and keep your mouth shut until I say otherwise."

"You know, those are two rules actually-"

He growled lowly and she knew the last thing she wanted was to awaken the fiery beast sleeping inside him. She made a gesture as if she's zipping her mouth shut and clasped her hands behind her back, giving him a playful grin. That damn smile made him calm down almost instantly.

"I am your humble student, master Hades." She batted her eyeslashes dramatically.

"What you are going to do is try to get inside my head," he announced, getting annoyed. "You always manage to do it when you are asleep and now I want you to do it consciously."

Thalia gulped, biting the inside of her cheek. It only now dawned on her how nervous she was and that she will actually have to use her powers. It still hadn't fully settled with her that she had any. "How?"

Hades was surprisingly patient when he was explaining the process to her, talking slowly (even slower than usual) and making lots of hand gestures (even more than usual). He wanted to simplify the whole thing to her the best he could and he hoped he would manage to achieve that. He could have lots of use of her if she learned to control her gift.

He observed her when she closed her eyes and released a deep breath, trying to concentrate. Her full lips parted slightly, lashes fluttering over the tops od her cheeks. Thalia's hands formed fists at her sides, her entire body going rigid. Hades expected her powers might potentially get out of control and was prepared to react accordingly if it comes to it.

"How do I get this to work?!" Thalia sighed in frustration.

"You just did," Hades replied smugly.

Thalia's eyes flew open in surprise. She hadn't said those words aloud and neither had he replied in that way. They were communicating through their minds.

"Magnificent, isn't it?" Hades only kept a smug look on his face, deciding to keep talking to her this way, wanting to see how long was she going to manage to keep the link between them.
