Preeta's Car
"Preeta Di, what did you say to Pragya bhab...chachi?" Tarun asked.
Preeta looked at the sleeping Kiara and stroked her head affectionately, "Tried to knock some sense in her, but she seems to have lost it all."
Tarun looked at her with a sad smile, "Do you think Bhai will be happy if she comes back now?"
"I know he won't, but what can we do. He won't be happy away from them either," Preeta replied, "I don't get what is going on in her mind. How can she still love someone that has hurt her so mu..." Preeta's phone suddenly rang. "Hello?"
"Hello," Abir replied from the other side, "Pree, I am taking this oldie out for a date. When you come back, please eat properly and sleep. Take those vitamins too."
"Date? Mr Raishinghania aren't you ashamed of yourself? Biwi se permission bhi nahi li," Preeta said in an accusing tone.
" What can I do, my biwi saheba doesn't have time for me recently," Abir replied with a huge sigh, "I have to entertain myself with chipmunks instead."
Preeta laughed, "Monkey! You are never gonna change. Anyway, it will be good if Jiju gets out a little. Where are you going? If you drink I wi..."
"Ice cream," Abir replied quickly, "ice cream therapy. Not drinking. I don't drink when you are not around, how will I when you are."
"Hmm," Preeta hummed, "Don't eat too much both of you get tonsillitis very easily. Okay, bye."
"Kya Hua?" Tarun asked.
"Your bro is taking Jiju for ice cream therapy," Preeta responded.
Once again the car fell into silence. Preeta thought about Abir's ice cream therapy and smiled. 'My first therapy was a mess,' she thought and looked out of the window.
"Preeta beta open the door!" Sarla called out from outside, "please, I am getting worried."
"Maa, I am fine just give me some time alone," Preeta replied as she wiped her tears.
Sarla bit her lips and called someone, "Hello? Pragya? King free hai kya?"
"No Maa, he has few meetings. Why? Are you feeling well? Shall I take an appointment with doctors?" Pragya asked.
"No, no. I just wanted to know when you both will come home. Bye," Sarla ended the call and sighed. "What do I do now?" She started dialling someone else's number. "Hello?"
"Aunty?" a cheery voice asked from the other side, "How are you?"
"I am good, but Preeta isn't."
"What did that Poe do to irritate you?"
" Abir, she was talking on the phone and suddenly broke down. She has now locked herself in the room," Sarla said.
"Okay aunty, I will be there. Don't worry," Abir replied hurriedly.
Preeta's room
"No matter what I do, my past comes back haunting me!" Preeta cried as she messed up the entire room. Her sobs echoed in the room; however soon even her energy dissipated. Laying on the bed, the tears trickled down as she stared at the ceiling, and soon closed her eyes to throw those thoughts out. Unable to do that, she opened her eyes.
"AHHH," Preeta screamed when she saw a face floating over her head.
"Ouch! Pree, what's wrong with you? My ears," Abir groaned as he rubbed them.
