"You're a bit late," the counselor said when he opened the door to their office
"I know, Maria and a boy at her tutoring got hurt,"
"Gut hurt? How so?"
Alexander shrugged as he slid down into his chair.
"She had a cut on her shoulder, and apparently some of the dark matter got into both of them. It was just weird,"
"Hmm. The boy was Mason Frost, yes?"
He nodded.
"From what I remember, Maria and him have never gotten along, I wonder why he agreed to tutoring her?"
"Does it matter?"
"Maybe, maybe not. Did anything else happen today?"
"Well. . . Maria was acting odd all day, like she was planning something,"
"Really? What did you think she was planning?"
"How am I supposed to know? I can't read her mind,"
The counselor sighed. "If only you could, that would make things so much easier. But alas, you can't, so be on your way now,"
"Really? The meeting feels rather short," he thought.
"I think you're forgetting something," he said instead.
"Oh, right," the counselor said before pulling out the stone.
It didn't hurt as much this time, maybe because he saw it coming. He still had a hard time walking back to his room though.
