"YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE ME YOU KNOW?"
Mario bailed on our amusement park date.
Well technically, he didn't bail on me since I had laid my request on him to go last minute but last time I checked, best friends made the impossible happen for each other.
Or...maybe I was letting Mario's attentiveness get to my head?
"I wanted to come with you," I was low-key freaking out as Eliseo steered me forward, keeping me close to his side as we pushed our way through the buzzing crowd, "I could see how much you wanted to come when you were talking about it and I thought it would be nice to come with you. Why would I let you go to the amusement park alone?"
"Yeah..."
So apparently Mario couldn't make it but Eliseo could.
In the end, we negotiated and decided that Eliseo could come with me so I wouldn't go alone. Everything had worked out perfectly so I technically didn't need to be complaining.
The only complaint I had now was my inability to relax and be normal around Eliseo after he had decided impulsively he wanted to spend more time with me.
"I can practically see the gears in your head turning," I didn't realise I had zoned out until I felt Eliseo's cool fingers press playfully on my left temple, drawing me back to reality, "Tell me what you are overthinking about."
I looked up to find that Eliseo was already looking down at me with a knowing grin, his brows raised.
"I am not thinking about anything," I half-lied, smiling pretentiously, "At least, I am not thinking about anything important."
"It's cute you know?" Eliseo suddenly blurted out, making my eyes widen, "I can tell when you are having a mental crisis. Your nose scrunches up and you start doing that pouting thing."
Heat flared through me.
He was that observant?
"So I am easy to read is what you are saying?" I sulked to him, turning my head away like it would stop him from seeing through me.
I did not like that at all.
Eliseo chuckled, affectionately poking my cheek. "Something like that," He was actually teasing me, "What can I say? I've got a good eye for picking up habits. Especially cute ones like yours."
I changed the subject quickly. "So, I think we should pick our first ride now."
I was ready to get on those rides to take my mind off the fact that I was spending quality time alone with Eliseo and I wanted to be screaming at the top of my lungs about it.
