PREVIOUSLY IN CHAPTER 19:
The beeping was back along with a voice. The voice was familiar and clear.
“I know the doctors said you probably can’t hear me right now but its worth a shot...”
Adam.
“Uh...well um, I’m glad you’re okay and” he sighed “I’m sorry we...I...couldn’t stop this from happening to you but, everyone would really love it if you’d wake up and show us that you really are okay”
But it was so dark, my eyelids and limbs felt heavy like a ton of bricks.
“I knew this wouldn’t work, just...just be okay, please”
I heard his footsteps as he left the room and I just lay there, trapped inside my own body.Adam’s POV
Blair has been in a coma for 3 or 4 days now. She’s showing no signs of progress and just seeing her lay there is driving me insane. If I could hurt Evan in any possible way I would. The McCarthers are in the process of seeing just how long they can put that little idiot behind bars for harming Blair.
I pause from my thoughts and just watch her, there were so many tubes attached to her that you’d think she was dying. I guess in a way she was kind of dead, dead to the world at least.
“You know they say some patients wake up when someone close to them gives them a little push” a voice said from behind me.
I jumped in shock and turned my head to see a nurse smiling sadly at me.
“Talk to her, give it a shot, I couldn’t hurt. Aside from that you need to get some sleep hun, you’ve been here for 4 days straight, aren’t you tired?” she asked.
I shook my head.“I’ll be fine”

Chapter 20
A Day Later
Blair’s POV
I could hear shuffling as I finally pried my eyes open, I instantly wanted to close them but feared that if I did I’d never wake up again. I blinked a bit and looked around. The ceiling was light blue and the tip of the curtains were as well, that’s about as far as I could turn my head. My ribcage ached and my throat was dry. I could hear the squeak of shoes and the thud of footsteps getting louder and closer.
“Someone’s coming” I thought.
“You don’t say”
The person stepped into the room, and I heard a creak as they settled in, what I assumed was a chair.
“H-Hello?” my voice was hoarse and raspy, I sounded like an old man.
“Oh my god! You’re awake!” my father shouted.
He ran over to my bed and looked down at me with happiness and concern. He pushed the button for a nurse. An African American woman, with long black hair and sharp features came in and began to check on me. She gave me water and asked me a ton of questions to which I answered as truthfully as I could. She said I was fine to leave the same day and I nodded at her as she left. As soon as the door clicked closed I was locked into a tight embrace.
“You have no idea, how worried I was!” my dad’s voice was quiet and small, he was close to tears.
“I thought you-” he paused “I thought you weren’t going to-” another pause.
“Shh, it’s okay, I’m okay, everything’s okay” I said to him hugging his waist as he leaked a few tears into my hair. We stood like that for awhile, just hugging and crying before Adam and Sally came in along with the whole gang, Evan included.

Adam’s POV
I was in my apartment sitting on the couch watching TV. I had left the hospital this morning, after deciding I couldn’t just sit there and watch her like that. Lifeless. Cold. She didn’t look like herself at all, and honestly every time I saw it, it angered me. There was so much I could’ve said and done. I should’ve stopped her date with that idiot, I should’ve known. Before I’d allowed Blair her privacy as her bodyguard, chauffeur, and friend, if she ever woke up that would all end. I would know everything about her, where she is, what she’s doing, and who’s she with. I couldn’t slip up again, I almost lost her this time, never again. I’m never losing anyone close to me ever again.
* * *
I arrived at the McCarther mansion and parked in the huge driveway. Just as I was about to knock on the door it was pulled open. I jumped back startled before regaining my composure. The moment I saw who was at the door I was enraged. I saw nothing but red. My jaw unconsciously clenched and my fist balled as I stared at Evan Keys, Blair’s kidnapper. The fake, who dared to misuse Blair’s kindness and trust.
“Adam I-I its not what yo-”
“You have ten seconds to tell me why you’re here, or I’m kicking your ass!” I shouted.
“Leave him be” a quiet voice said, Sally’s heels clicked as she turned the corner in the foyer.
“Let him be?! Have the chemicals in that hair dye finally seeped into her brain?!” I thought to myself, as I stared at her in utter confusion and astonishment.
“Come inside Adam, we all need to talk about Blair for a bit” Sally said.
I glared at Evan as I shouldered past him and into the palace of a home. Sally led us to the family room and I plopped down and the couch. Evan absentmindedly proceeded to the same couch. I cleared my throat and gave him another look. He grimaced and quickly changed directions, taking a love seat to the right of me instead. Sally sat in a single armchair facing us and the next few words that came out of her mouth left me appalled.
(2 hours late, At the hospital)
I kept my distance from Evan as the group and Sally walked in awkward silence. It was quite obvious, to just about anyone, that Evan wasn’t wanted here. Casey, Bryce, Derek, Kyle, and I all walked close together leaving Evan out-casted to the side, Sally walked in the middle of the gap.
We’d received news that Blair awoke after our little chit chat at the McCarther’s, my blood was still boiling.
“Do you really think she wants to see all of us right now?” Bryce asked.
“I’m sure she’ll be ecstatic that you guys came to visit her” Sally said.
We had picked them all up in one of the McCarther’s many cars, a SUV.
We strolled into the room to see Blair hugging her father. The scene was quite the tear-jerker, actually. Her eyes widened in surprise and happiness as her eyes crawled over her friends until she finally landed on Evan, and the expression she shown on her face made me want to hurt him even more. Blair was terrified.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Author's Note:
THERE IT IS! :D I don't have much to say this time, this is actually the chapter in it's entirity (they may be getting shorter but I like a little bit of suspense).
Some things you should be wondering:
Who did Adam lose?
Does he like Blair?
Why isn't Evan in jail?
What did Sally, Evan, and Adam talk about?
How will Blair react to Evan?
What ever happened to Castel?
so while you think about that, I'll be writing the next chapter. Let me know what you come up with in the comments :D
