Previously on Chapter 7:
Something whizzed past my face snapping me away from my thoughts.
They have guns!
“Ahh!” Sally shrieked as a bullet whizzed past her arm.
She hobbling now, one of her heels had broken and I was still surprised at how fast she was moving. She stopped briefly to kick off the other heel and we took off running again.
Adam groaned from his place between us.
Sally had one of his arms and I was holding the other. He breathing was labored and he was pale. I knew he wouldn’t last much longer if we didn’t get out of here soon.
“Hang on buddy” I whispered to him.
He nodded and took in a deep breath. There was a fence in the distance and I thanked the heavens. It was all too soon apparently because as we got closer to fence a bulky guy popped out from behind a tree with a gun. It was aimed right at me. There was a loud bang and a scream. It took me a while to register it was me. Darkness consumed me as the sound of helicopters was heard from ahead. Adam, Sally and my mother slid through my mind.
“I’m sorry I brought you all into this” I thought hoping they would somehow hear me.
“I’m so sorry” and I fell into unconsciousness.

Chapter 8:
Beep. Beep.
Ugh, is that my alarm?
Beep. Beep.
It sounds different…strange.
Beep. Beep.
I tried to stick out my hand to turn it off but for some reason I couldn’t move.
The beeping continued I tried to open my eyes, but the task proved to be extremely difficult.
“I think she’s waking up” a female voice said.
“Good I was worried” a male voice said sounding tired
“You should rest Adam, you’ve been through a lot” the female voice that I know registered as Sally spoke.
“I’m fine” Adam replied.
I tried to open my eyes again, still no luck. I tried harder and managed to pry them open an inch.
“She’s opening her eyes!” Sally squealed loudly making me wince.
“You’re too loud” Adam said with exasperation.
I fully opened my eyes and took in my surroundings. I was no longer in the forest; I was in a light blue room. It had a soft-looking blue carpet and wave designs on the wall. I was lying in a hospital bed in a white gown. I sat up and felt something tug on my wrist. I looked down and realized I had and IV in my arm and was hooked up to an EKG.
“Well that explains the beeping” I thought to myself.
I looked back at Adam and Sally to see worried expressions drawn across their faces. I smiled at them to let them know I was ok and then of course Sally broke down.
“Oh Blair!” she wailed as she got up from her chair and ran to my bedside crushing me in a tight hug. “I was so worried about you!” she sobbed into my shoulder.
“Sally you’ll hurt her” Adam said from his chair.
“Where am I?” my voice was hoarse and small.
