Previously in Chapter 15:
"So you and Evan huh?" Derek asked giving me a mischievous grin.
I rolled my eyes as I repeated myself again
"We're just friends"
"Where is Evan anyway?" Bryce questioned.
I shrugged and shoveled a fork full of lasagna into my mouth.

Evan's POV
I walked out of the school building and hopped into my car. I smiled as I thought of my future pay check, I was one step closer to Blair. I dialed my boss.
"Hello"
"Hey its Keys, I asked her to the movies this Saturday"
"Well done boy, I'll get my men ready" I could hear the happiness in his voice.
I hung up and felt a pang in my chest of a feeling I couldn't place. I shook it off I need the money, plain and simple, and I would do what I needed to for it.

Chapter 16
Tonight was the night, and even though we're only friends, I'm really nervous. Mainly because I'm no longer sure if we're going as just friends or more, do I want to go as more than friends? Am I over reacting? I sighed and fixed my outfit once more in the mirror. I was wearing a long grey sweater, which was more like a dress, and black tights, with brown tall boots and dark gray knit hat on my head. Times were getting colder as my winter birthday approached, 3 more days. I began pacing the floor as I looked at my watch. He'll be here in about ten minutes. Three loud knocks on my door interrupted my train of thought. Before I could even say come in my dad burst through the door. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Hi honey" he said, his voice slightly strained to sound calm.
"Hey" I responded, coolly.
He sat on my bed and patted the spot next to him, a gesture signifying that he wanted me to sit down. I crossed the room and sat on my bed, we fell into a short awkward silence. Dad twirled his thumbs as if he was thinking really hard about something.
"So, um...I hear you are going out with a boy tonight".
Suddenly it all hit me. This was the father daughter moment you see in all those movies, where the girl goes out with this boy but before they leave the father comes and has a talk with his "little girl", and then makes some threat to the guy taking her out. I snickered. Dad gave me a funny look and my snickering turned into full blown laughter. My dad looked a mixture of confused and surprised. I calmed myself down and wiped the tears from my guffawing out of my eyes.
"Dad it's ok you don't have to give me a little prep talk, we're going as friends that, and you're not very good at it either."
He gave a sigh of relief and slowly got up from my bed.
"Well thank god because I had no idea what I was supposed to say" he admitted.
I chuckled. He looked at me and smiled.
"But be careful and be home by 11:00" he said giving me a serious look.
"Okay"
"Where are you guys going anyway?" he asked.
"To see a movie, I don't know which theatre though" I replied nonchalantly.
"Oh...okay, is Adam coming along?" he asked.
