third-person pov:

"MOTHER!!" Dream calls out, running up the long case of stairs.

"DREAM! HELP!" George calls out in a panic.

Dream, more determind then ever, ran up the stairs.

Finally, he reached the top and found his door already opened. Sword in hand, he barged into the room and looked around.

It didn't take long for him to find who he was looking for.

Standing on his windowsill, his mother grinned as she saw Dream enter.

Dream's eyes widened as he looked over. George was shaking as he was brought even closer to the queen.

"Dream, Dream, Dream.. look at what you've become." She sighed.

"What do you mean." Dream snarled, stepping closer.

"You've become a killing machine, all because of this outcast!" She laughed out.

As Dream was a few feet away, the queen was already ready.

"Oh Dream, please take care of your father."

"Wh-"

Before Dream could question her, she stepped off the ledge.

Almost in slow morion for Dream, he watched as his mother and George slipped down, George reached out his hand, and Dream flung himself towards the window.

Their hands made contact.

Dream fell to his knees as the sudden weight was put onto his arms.

He looked over the edge to see George hanging onto Dream's hand for his life, and his mother laying on the ground.

"D-Dream! Please don't let go of me!" George cried out, his grip tightning.

"I won't let you go George.. SOMEONE HELP!" Dream cried out.

The sun began to peak over the mountains and lights in the town flicked on.

"HELP ME PLEASE!" Dream cried.

He shifted so he was half out the window and both hands clasping George's one arm.

George looked to the ground and back up at Dream.

George knew what was going to happen.

He slightly grinned.

"Dream.. it's okay. You can let go."

In that moment, George no longer held onto Dream's hands, leaving Dream to hold on himself.

George started to slowly slip from Dream's hands.

"I'm not.. going to let you die George." Dream groaned, trying to hoist George up.

"HELP ME!!" Dream pleaded to the empty bedroom.

Tears streaming down George's face left a trail of shimmering water falling underneath him.

"I love you Dream.."

"NOT NOW! YOU AREN'T DYING NOW!" Dream cried.

The wind picked up and the buckle on Dream's mask loosened, sending his mask flying onto the ground.

George's eyes widened as he looked at Dream's face, eyes swollen and uncontrollable tears.

"Dream... you're beautiful."

"PLEASE GEORGE I'M BEGGING YOU HOLD ON!"

"I want to see you smile.."

"GEORG-"

"Please Dream."

It fell silent for a moment, the birds tweeting to the morning sun.

Dream looked down at George and gave a weak smile, which George returned.

"Handsome.." He said quietly.

"George.. please. Hang on." Dream pleaded.

His grip loosening.

"Dream, promise to bury me next to the flowers, I've always liked the blue ones."

"George n-"

Their hands slipped a part.

Dream watched as his favourite person in the world slowly fell.

George slowly fell, the tears making a somewhat beautiful shimmer.

Even in his final moments, he couldn't take his eyes off Dream.

I finally got to see what was behind that mask of yours..

The smile was weak, but George knew Dream would understand.

The ground slowly grew closer. and then, George closed his eyes.

He can finally rest.

Forever.
