The accident

Chapter 3

We finally arrived at our new house. It looked so pretty and big from the outside. We all got out of the uber and grabbed our suitcases. "Are you ready?" My dad asked as he put the key in the door, we all nodded then he unlocked the door. I walked inside and looked around, it was massive. Most of our furniture was already set up but there were still boxes around. "Go choose your rooms" my mum said excitedly then we all ran upstairs. I ran to the very top where there was one room which was suppose to be an attic but was made into a bedroom. It was really big, the carpet was a nice cream colour and the walls were white, it was perfect!

I ran back downstairs and started taking my boxes upstairs to my room. I couldn't unpack them yet since I had no furniture so I had to wait for my dad to put them all together. Since it was going to take a while I decided to take a walk around my new neighbourhood. I got changed into a pair of denim shorts and a white short sleeved crop top since it was really hot. I put on my white converse then grabbed my sunglasses and phone before heading out the door.

I walked around making sure I remembered the way back home. I eventually came to a beach. The sea was a beautiful clear blue colour, much better than the sea back in England which was a dirty brown colour. I found a nice spot on the beach and took a seat, taking in all of the sunshine. A few minutes later a volleyball rolled in front of me, I looked to my right and saw a boy who looked quite familiar running towards me. "Chloe?" The boy said as he got closer, "yeah?" I asked confused, "it's me Cameron" he said while smiling, "Cameron! Hello!" I said, "So I guess this is where you live now?" He said as he picked up the ball and threw it towards the group of guys by the volleyball net, "yeah, do you live here too?" I asked, "yeah" he said as he took a seat next to me, "how strange" I said, "what do you mean?" He asked confused, "I thought I wouldn't see you again" I said, "well now you will see me all the time" he grinned, "well at least I know one person around here" I giggled, "If you want to meet more people there's a party here tonight, you should come" he said, "Hmm I guess I could come and check it out" I said, "great, oh what's your number?" He asked while getting out his phone and handing it to me, I typed it in then passed it back to him, "I will see you tonight" he said before standing up and heading back to his volleyball game.

I stood up and headed back home to get ready for the party tonight.

Once I got home I went straight up to my room. My dad had finally finished setting up all my furniture so I started to unpack. My phone bleeped so I stopped and sat down on my bed. It was an unknown number.

?- Hey Chloe.
Me- Sorry, who is this?
?- Oh it's me, Cameron.
Me- Obviously, how did I not know that😂
Cameron- The party starts at 7pm.
Me- Okay see you then.

I locked my phone then got back to unpacking.

By the time I had finished unpacking it was 6pm, I had an hour to get ready! I walked over to my wardrobe and picked out a white laced crop top, denim shorts and a black floral kimono. I put on a white bikini just in case we went into the sea then got changed. I put on a bit of makeup, mascara and eyeliner then put on my white converse. Once I was ready I put my phone in my pocket then walked downstairs to see my family.

"Are you going out?" My mum asked as I walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water, "yeah, there's a party at the beach" I said, "and how did you find out about this party?" My mum asked, "My friend Cameron told me about it" I said, "Cameron ey, how did you meet him?" She grinned, "On the plane, he sat next to me" I said, "and he lives around here?" She asked, "yeah" I said then took a sip of my water, "well I'm happy to see you're making new friends already" she said then smiled before leaving the kitchen. I looked at the time and realised I had 5 minutes to get to the beach. I put my glass down, then I went and said goodbye to everyone and then left.

I was only a few minutes late and there were tons of people there already. I looked around trying to find Cameron but couldn't see him anywhere. suddenly my phone bleeped.

Cameron- I'm by the pier.
Me- Be there in a minute

I locked my phone and headed towards the pier.

"Hey" Cameron said as soon as he saw me, "there are a lot of people here" I giggled, "yeah everyone loves parties around here" Cameron said, "Back in England no one ever had parties" I said, "oh well I'm sure you will be invited to lots here" he said, "Shall we take a walk on the pier?" I said, "sure" he said then we started walking towards the end of the pier.

"So have you got any siblings?" I asked breaking the silence, "I have one older sister, Sierra" he said, "I love that name" I said, "how about you?" He asked, "I have one older brother called Harrison and one younger sister called Ellie" I said, "I look forward to meeting them" he chuckled. We finally reached the end of the pier, it looked so pretty how the moon sparkled on the sea. "So how you liking Cali so far?" Cameron asked as we both leaned over the railings looking at the sea, "I love it! I wasn't too keen on moving here at first because it is so far away from England where all my friends live but at least I have you as a friend here" I said which reminded me I had to call Shannon and Toby, "You will make lots of new friends here" he said while smiling, "I hope so" I said then smiled back.

After about 15 minutes of talking we decided to head back to the party. It was so crowded now and lots of people were drunk. "Would you like a drink?" Cameron asked, "no thank you" I said, "I know someone you can meet" Cameron said then started walking so I followed behind him. He walked over to a group of boys, one had short bleach blonde hair and was quite tall, another one had brown hair and was wearing a bucket hat, and the last one also had brown hair but had a bit of blonde in the fringe. "Hey guys" Cameron said, "Cameron!" They all said, "Chloe, this is Kian" he said pointing to the boy with blonde hair, "this is Matthew" he said pointing to the boy wearing a bucket hat, "and this is Nash" he said finally pointing to the last boy, from what I could see he had husky blue eyes which looked amazing, "everyone this is Chloe" Cameron said, "hey" I said along with a small wave. Cameron started talking to the boys so I backed away a bit and sat down on the sand. Matthew walked over to me and sat down, "are you new here?" He asked, "yeah I just moved here today" I said, "awesome, that means we have a lot to show you" he said with a smile then all the other boys walked over, "lets go dance" Cameron said then held out his hand to help me up.

We made our way to where everyone was dancing and joined in. After about an hour of dancing I started to get tired. "I think I'm gonna go" I shouted to Cameron so he could hear me, "Okay, I will walk you" he shouted back.

We started walking, we could finally talk normally again because the music wasn't as loud. "What are you doing tomorrow?" Cameron asked, "Nothing" I said, "Do you want to go swimming with me, Matthew, Nash and Kian?" He asked, "sure" I said with a smile. "Well this is my house" I said once we were outside mine, "Wow it looks really nice" Cameron said, "You should see the inside it's amazing!" I said, "I bet it is" he chuckled, "well I best go inside now" I said then kissed his cheek before walking up to my door and letting myself in.

I was blushing like crazy, how did I manage to gather the confidence to do that! I quickly ran up to my room and got changed into a pair of pyjama shorts and a vest top then took my makeup off. I brushed my teeth then got into bed thinking about tomorrow and slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.
