The accident

Chapter 4

I woke up bright and early to the sun shining through the gap in the curtains. I sat up and looked around, usually I wouldn't be able to get up early but waking up to the sun shining made me happy and actually want to get up. I grabbed my phone from my bedside table and looked through my notifications, there was a text message from Shannon.

Shannon- I'm guessing you're in Cali now. Toby and I miss you like crazy! Text me back as soon as you can.

I decided I will just call her instead of texting.

It rung a few times before she finally picked up. "Chloe!" She said loudly, "Shannon!" I said loudly back, "So how's Cali? You met any cute boys yet?" She asked, "It's been great so far. And yes I've met one" I said, thinking about Cameron and the party, "Really?! What's his name? How did you meet? Do you like him? Does he like you? Tell me everything!" She said really fast, "Slow down Shannon" I giggled, "sorry" she said, "His name is Cameron, I met him on the plane and he just so happened to live in the same neighbourhood as me, and I've only known him for about a day and a few hours, he is cute though!" I said, "well I look forward to meeting him when I come to visit you" she said, "I'm going swimming with him and his friends today" I said, "make sure to wear waterproof makeup and your best Bikini" she said then giggled, "I will" I giggled back, "well I have to go have my dinner now, I will Skype you soon" she said, "okay, love you" I said, "love you too, bye" she said then hung up.

I put my phone back on my bedside table then stood up and walked downstairs. "Morning" my mum said as I entered the kitchen, "hey" I said then walked over to the fridge, "how was your first night in our new house?" She asked, "great, I love waking up to the sun shining" I said as I grabbed the raspberries and placed them down on the side. "So are you seeing Cameron today?" My mum said with a grin on her face, "Yep, I'm going swimming with him and his friends" I said, "Make sure you wear waterproof makeup and a nice bikini" she said, "why is everyone saying that, do I look ugly without makeup or something?" I giggled, "no you're beautiful, it's just chlorine can irritate your skin and you don't really want him to see you without makeup on a first date, do you?" she said then ate a raspberry, "It's not a date mum" I giggled, "if you say so" she said sarcastically then left the kitchen. I ate a few more raspberries then put them back in the fridge. I then ran upstairs to get ready.

I had a quick shower then picked out my clothes. I picked a white floral patterned bikini and to wear over that I picked a pair of denim American Apparel shorts and a tight black crop top. I quickly got changed then started on my hair and makeup. I decided to just put my hair in a high ponytail since it was going to get wet, for my makeup I applied a little foundation and waterproof mascara. Once I was ready I sat on my bed and went on my phone. There was a text from Cameron, sent 5 minutes ago.

Cameron- Be there in 10.

I texted back straight away so he knew I was ready.

Me- Okay, can't wait!

I stood up and put my phone in my pocket. I put on my white converse then ran downstairs to get some money from my mum since I couldn't use English money anymore. A few minutes later the doorbell rang. "Have fun" my mum said, "bye, love you" I said then went and answered the door.

"Hey, you look nice" Cameron said with a big smile on his face, "thank you" I said as I shut the door behind me. We walked over to Cameron's car and he opened the door for me and waited until I was in to shut the door. Cameron then got in and we both put our seat belts on.

"So how far away is the swimming pool?" I asked, breaking the silence, "about 10 minutes away" he said, "is it outdoors?" I asked, "yep, good thing it's not raining" he said. We were silent for the rest of the way since we both had nothing to say, but it wasn't awkward.
