Chapter 4 - Well Dinner Was 'Nice'

I was in my room getting ready for dinner with Willow.
"This ones perfect" she squealed. She held up a blue strapless dress that has a belt where the dress splits from a silcky fabric to a fabric that flows down all the way to my feet. I sighed, Willow was trying to get me to look nice for this stupid dinner.

"I dont know Willow"

"Please just go try it on, you've turned down every dress ive shown you" she pleaded. I huffed, "fine" I say grabbing the dress.

2 minutes later I walked out of the bathroom with the dress on. I didnt even bother to look in the mirror. Im not gonna look goo-. I was cut off by Willow screaming.

"Quiet down Willow" I hiss. She covers her mouth and giggles a sorry.

"Sorry, you just look amazing in it, here let me do your hair and makeup" she ushers me to my desk chair. Half a hour later Willow and I were ready for dinner. We just finished when we heard the doorbell ring.

"Deliah can you get that I gotta go finish off the table. Keep them occupied in the family room, thanks" she says rushing out of the room before I could protest. I went down the stairs and opened the door. It was Phenix, Josh and much to my disliking Calleb. Phenix was the first one to walk in and I gave him a big toothy grin. Next was Josh, I gave him a smile. Then it was Calleb who I just glared at, he glared back.

We all walked into the livingroom. "Willow will be here any second shes just finishing off the table" I say gesturing for them to have a seat. The next 5 minutes was just Phenix trying to start a conversation but I stayed out of it. Finally after what seemed like forever Willow walked in. She gave everyone a warm smile. She walked over to Phenix and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Calleb and I both made vomiting noises. Willow glared at me and I just gave her a sweet inosent smile.

"Right, Calleb and Deliah have a nice night, us adults are going out" she said grabbing her purse.

"What?!" Calleb and I yelled. "You cant leave me here with him" I say pointing to Calleb. Willow puts a hand on her hip.

"Too bad, you too need to get along, you too will have a nice dinner here while the rest of us are going out for dinner for a double date" she says walking out of the room, Josh and Phenix follow. I stand there shocked, how could they do this. Willow was going to get an earfull when she got back.

Calleb and I stood there awkwardly until I heard my tummy grumble. I walked into the kitchen and put Calleb and my dinner on the table. I poked my head back into the living room to see Calleb standing there awkwardly staring at the ground.

"Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna eat" Calleb pokes his head up and walks into the kitchen behind me. We sat and ate silently. I looked up to see Calleb eating but still looking at the ground. He was wearing a white dress shirt with black skinny jeans. Calleb looked up at me right when I was staring at him.

"Is there a problem?" He askes mouth full of food.

"Yuck dont talk with your mouth full its disgusting"  I say making a disgusted face. Calleb rolls his eyes and says

"Didnt know you were my mother"

"If you were my child I would of gotten ride of you a long time ago" I scoff. Calleb put a hand to his heart

"Harsh words Deli, that hurt"

"Ever thought that it hurt me everytime you made fun of me Calle" I snap.

"Jeez, is it your time of the month or something or are you just a bitch" he snaps. I blush but it imediatley goes away and I yell at him

"Jeez are you an arrogant jerk who doesnt care about anything but himself" I say standing up getting sick of him already. He copies and stands up aswell.

" I care about stuff you bitch, you know nothing about me" he yells.

"Sorry thats just the impression I got from you seeing as how you treat me" I scream my anger taking over.

"You treat me like shit too you know its not a one way thing"

"Yeah but im pretty sure you started this whole thing when I didnt do a dam thing to you, I didnt do anything and you just started teasing me and bullying me, do you know how much that hurt. You made me hate myself sometimes, god you have no idea what it feels like"  I was crying by this point. I was full of anger, I threw my plate of spagetti at him. His face had complete shock on it. I dont blame him, ive never yelled at anyone like this before. "You have no idea what it feels like to get hurt over and over again" I scream throwing more spagetti at him.

"You have no idea what ive been through, ive been abused and called names just like you but not from kids at school, i copped it from my parents. I know what it feels like, but you know what I dont know what it feels like, to be loved, everybody hates me" yells Calleb. At this point we were both breathless from yelling. Tears still fell down my face as I took in what he said. Had he never been loved? Calleb storms out of the house. I run to my room and cry into my pillow. I keep crying till I drift off to sleep.

I awoke by my alarm clock. I shut it off and slowly sat up. I looked out my window. Callebs bedroom window was allined with my window. I saw that his window was open. All of a sudden he burst into his room. A man in his forties followed, he looked pissed. They were arguing. They were yelling until the man in his forties, which im guessing is Callebs dad, hit him across the face. I froze, last night argument came flooding back 'ive been abused'. I never even noticed it till now. The scars he came to school with, he would always just say he got into an accident or something but now I know thats not true, hes getting abused.

Callebs dad walks out of the room and slams the door. Calleb comes to his window, and he sees me. He gives me a look saying 'Tell anyone you pay'. He closes his window and shuts his blind.

I quickly get dressed and walk down stairs. Willow and Phenix are in the kitchen. I look into the dining room, theres a massive mess. The chairs are on the ground and theres spagetti everywhere. I look at Willow she gives me a look saying 'We will talk about this later'. I nod and look at the clock. The bus will be here any minute now. I quickly grab an apple and run out of the house, just in time to catch the bus. I hop on and take a seat at the back. A few minutes later Calleb comes out of his house. He hops onto the bus and we lock eyes. He immediately looks away and takes the seat next to me like he has too. I scooch over a bit. I feel like I should hate him right now but I just cant. I get why he bullied me now, I was the new girl in town, he had a lot of anger from his parents and he took it out on me, hes had a tough life but im going to turn his life upside down, I mean everyone deserves a second chance.

Hey guys heres chapter 4. Some real chiz went down in this chapter. You got to learn a bit more about Calleb and his life.
