You never really liked the smell of cigarettes, you always had thought that its smell had brought you misfortune in this already cruel world.
Both of your parents had smoked—they believed that it was a way to relieve their stress from having high expectations from their already overachieving eldest daughter.
The smell of smoke seemed to confine you in those high hopes. Time seemed to tick unbearably slower whenever that suffocating and bitter-smelling tobacco would linger anywhere near your nose.
However, one day, your perception of the scent you loathed the most seemed to change years after meeting that junior of yours who confessed his love for you under the cherry blossom trees on the day of your high school graduation.
"Miss (Y/n), (L/n)! Congrats on your graduation! I like you! I want to go out with you!" he said in heavy breaths and reddened cheeks, he must've mustered a lot of courage for him to be able to say that to you.
His pitch-black orbs gazed sincerely at your (e/c) ones, his pursed lips were slightly quivering.
You thought that his gesture to profess his feelings for you was cute—even though you couldn't deny that it was quite awkward but something about his clumsy confession had charmed you.
"Okay, if you could find me after you graduate high school, I'll greatly reconsider your confession. Mr. Sano"
