I walked out of the counselors office and went back to lunch. Right as I entered the cafeteria, the bell rang signaling that it was over. Today is just not my day I guess. At least it's fourth period, the only period I can skip without getting caught. Mr. Stiles sleeps the entire time and doesn't even know when someone has or hasn't shown up. So what's the point in going in the first place?
I walked to my locker and grabbed a seventeen magazine I had bought a week earlier, then headed to the girls bathroom. I walked into a stall, closed the door, and started reading.
Skipping fourth period made the day go a little faster. Well that and the fact someone pulled the fire alarm.
I walked out of the school and looked for Lori. When I couldn't find her, I walked to where we had parked this morning and found that her car was gone. She ditched me. Probably to hook up with some random guy.
I huffed and started walking home in the snow.
The next day
"Mind telling me where you were yesterday?" I asked as I got into Loris car.
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, I had to walk home in the freezing snow." I glared at her. I was still pissed. I got two blisters and frostbite from that walk.
Her eyes widened in realization, "Oh shit Brandi, I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you I had a date."
"Yeah. You did." I rolled my eyes but let it slide. This has happened before, but not in a
while."With who?" I broke the silence.
"Michael Blosser."
"What? Were we not just making fun of him the other day?" I laughed.
"I know, I know! Somehow his boner from Ms. Wensel brought us closer together." She snorted.
"Oh my god."
"Alright enough about me. Did you find out about extra credit?"
"Oh yeah, I have to tutor some delinquent."
"Name?"
"Eddie Pilikian."
"I don't know who he is." Lori shrugged.
"Yeah no one does."
"Well did he seem nice?"
"No. He called me a priss when I did literally nothing."
"Asshole. Good luck with that." I nodded.
Lori once again, pulled up next to the curve and we both got out.
I normally don't mind going to school, but the fact I have to tutor somebody who randomly decided to just not like me, made me dread it.
"Hey, you okay?" Lori put her hand on my shoulder, grabbing me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, just super pumped to tutor Eddie."
"You're definitely overthinking this. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? He calls you a name or two. Call him one back. See how he likes that." Lori said as we walked up to the entrance.
"I'm not going to call him any names. Mr. Jurel said he's just got problems. I don't really want to make it worse for him."
Lori rolled her eyes, "Whatever Brandi."
