Chapter 9

"So, this is what you wanted to bother us for?" Roman grunted out pointing at Remus.
"Dear calm down this is a nice surprise. We have a new friend to add to our group, and he is well educated, isn't that right Remus?" Patton breathed out, taking a bite out of a pastry he had bought.
Remus giggled and nodded, "Oh yea, definitely knowledgeable, isn't that right Double D?" Janus smacked him upside the head gaining a smile from Roman and a growl from the victim.
Logan stayed quiet, flipping through a schoolbook no thoughts behind his eyes. He couldn't stop this motion behind his chest, something tearing away at him. A feeling all too well whenever he watched Roman and Patton kiss or pull one together close. He hated it, and pushed it down, getting heated up too quickly for his liking.
"Nerd, what'cha doing?" Remus asked, not interested in what Logan had to say or do, too busy trying to fuck around with Janus.
"What does it matter to you?" Logan asked, a hint of unknown anger behind his voice.
Remus didn't pay any mind to it, considering Janus had now gotten out of his seat. No one paid any mind to Logan, as they were all deterred away from their own thoughts as a scream sounded throughout the air. Multiple students looked around frantically as the screaming continued, some leaving the cafeteria while others covered their ears.
A girl came in running, her screams muffled as her hands were over her mouth. Janus jogged over to the girl and shook her out of her haze, getting her to stop the screaming. "What happened?" he asked, only to be answered by, "There was a monster. A monster........"
She trailed off after that, and the medics were called. Janus was questioned and eventually returned to the group. He was bombarded by questions which he couldn't answer, and Remus decided it was time to leave as other people were beginning to come around to ask what had happened.
Logan shook his head, pushing up his glasses frustrated now. Standing up he announced to the group that he would be taking leave to his next class early. None made a motion to stop him, but he could see that Patton was a bit sad to see him go.
Passing windows, he could've sworn he saw a thundering figure and a small person which looked to be like Virgil. He leaned towards the window closer and saw the two figures take to the sky only to disappear behind the clouds. His eyebrows furrowed and he shook his head as the bell rang, summoning students to their next class.
