Matt brought a metallic platter with slices of bread, a carafe of coffee and another of milk, a bowl and two mugs with some butter, chocolate powder and jams. He posed the platter on the table and poured milk in the bowl before giving it to Warren with the chocolate powder and two slices of bread. He then gave one mug of coffee to Tess before taking one for himself and sharing the rest of the slices with his wife.
"Can I have the strawberry jam please?" Asked Warren very nicely.
"Here you go" Said Matt handing him a small jar of red jam.
"I hope you don't mind us taking our breakfast" Apologized Tess taking a hot sip of coffee.
'I don't' Elyse replied shaking her head, looking and smelling all this food that she never saw before. With the chain hanging on the side of the table, she was intrigued by the strong smell of the coffee and it's black aspect, not looking too appetizing to her nostrils.
"Is there something you would like?"
'Yeah' She replied before jumping in the air, passing above their head and going back to the room with the cages. The small family looked a little confused before she came back with a small cube of meat in her teeth that was left for her in the cage, landing at the exact same spot before eating it in two quick bites.
"So... I'm sure you have some questions but we also have a lot. That's a shame that you can't write or talk but we will find a way to interact. And since you can't talk, can we ask you a few questions?" Asked Tess spreading out some butter on a slice of bread.
'If you can let me go, why not' She nodded.
"Great! Matt do you have something in mind?"
"Sure. First, you said that you came here from Germany and that you're over eight hundred years old right?" He wished to confirm.
'Yes'.
"So can you tell us how you arrived in America? When if possible? That would help us understand dragons"
'Why would you want to understand us? And what is America?' She wondered tilting her head on the right.
"Is there something you don't understand?" He asked.
Elyse moved to Tess and pointed the phone. Thankfully it was still on the map and Tess zoomed out, letting appear the name America which she understood as the continent they were in. After she looked for the calendar which took some time until Tess found out what she wanted and she made her move forward in time for multiple centuries until she reached the 16th century. Elyse wasn't sure of the exact date so she just stopped there.
"Five hundred years Matt. She arrived here five hundred years ago" Said Tess continuously incredulous before the revelations of Elyse.
"I guess you didn't got there with your wings" He supposed rightfully. "A boat perhaps?"
She nodded, approving his quick deduction.
"Okay my turn now. Elyse, do you know other dragons? Is there some around here?" Asked Tess.
'I used to but if you never saw a dragon before I guess that there's no dragon here. There were quite a few in Europe but I don't know what happened to them and I don't care, they tried to eat me. I think I can say no' She thought deeply before shaking her head.
"Which one is it? Do you know other dragons?"
Elyse nodded positively.
"So you know other dragons but there is no other dragons here correct?"
She nodded again.
"That would explain why there's no dragon. And are they all like you?"
'Beside my size? Yeah, they're almost all like me'. She didn't know what to answer, this was both a Yes and a No question.
